Outstanding choices bud!

Of the two: Daytona > Sub

But I’m going to also plug the RG CHNR as that beauty needs to be given a try on the wrist before you make a decision.

Enjoy the pursuit and congrats in advance!

I love that dd40. Never get on with rose gold but I already I have a WG and a YG I would love to add that what an amazing three piece dd49 collection that would be.

Out of the two posted I would choose the Daytona, only because it’s more wearable to me. But I would as others have suggested choose a day date over the two.

My opinion is get the Platona but I see that's not a choice. So dealing with the provided choices I'd say it depends on what you're after. The Daytona wears smaller than the Sub and for me is more comfortable. If you have a large wrist size the Sub might look better to your eye. Try on both and make the decision!!!

Tough choice. Personal preference. I have two PM Daytona's and a PM Submariner. If I had to choose it would be the Daytona right now but that could change.

Daytona and sub wear very differently. I would go with the sub simply because of the size difference

Would highly caution on the PM Daytona with metal bezel, huge scratch magnet! Amazingly, I'd say even more of a scratch magnet than a AP RO bezel.

I love the new blue sub, assuming YG is your thing. The dial is very, very nice. Note: I think the color of the new dial is lighter, more ('electric' in the color range maybe?) than the previous generation.

All that said, I'd go either 519LN OF or Platona for PM choices personally. If strictly between the two you're talking about, I'd surprisingly lean towards the YG sub. BUT, given our past conversations, maybe you'd find 519LN the best because then you don't have concerns about wearing it out and about.

As others have said, it’s very personal and subjective.

For me, I’d go white metal and either GMT or Platinum DD

So many good choices available in PM. These would be my top 2 currently.
I’d pass on that Daytona, I prefer ceramic on my Daytonas. The yg sub is fabulous but my skin is a better match for rg and I’d wear that sparingly as I prefer more stealth in my big hitters

There is no one "best", but if I had to pick one it would be a Day Date. It's the king.

The best PM is the one YOU eventually choose. Of the two you have up, I’d take the Sub. Good luck

I currently don’t have a Sub, but expect the new Cermit at some point. I have a SS Daytona 116500LN in my collection.

I strongly prefer a full PM piece as opposed to the Daytona on OF. Not because I don’t like the OF - it’s beautiful and a great watch. But I think the full PM is something better fitting in my collection.

So, I’m interested in hearing from the board what model they prefer, and why:

A PM daytona with ceramic bezel would be so nice! With that said, as that doesn’t exist yet, of the two I would opt for the sub despite preference for the daytona. Ever considered a DD to add a third to the mix?

They're both incredible pieces, but one thing that I considered before buying my first precious metal piece was whether or not I wanted a ceramic bezel. The Sub has one, while the Daytona does not, this was a game changer for me personally, given the softness of PM.

Wow...I genuinely appreciate all of the advice and thoughts. Love this forum!

A couple of things:

- The Platona isn't happening. I used to love that watch but it's one of the most recent victims of Rolex mania and it's simply out of my price range right now. I don't ever see that one coming back down to earth, either. I also don't have the status with my AD to even reasonably request one.

- The Day/Date...I know this is the "quintessential" gold Rolex, but it's just not my style. It's a beautiful watch, but it's not for me. There are a couple of pics I see in the replies and it's gorgeous for sure, but this is a purchase where I have to go with what sings to me personally.

- So far, I think the new Sub is taking the lead...but I'm going to stay tuned into this to see what others have to say. There's just something about how that blue "pops" against the gold...

If you can swing the admission of full 18K, it is leaps and bounds more satisfying than two tone. I have owned all 3, steel, TT, and now 18K.

Own both. Daytona with PN dial is killer but the Submariner is a classic. Tough choice but you can't go wrong with either

You can’t go wrong really! Any reason why you wouldn’t be interested in the sub with black dial out of interest ?

I own both watches OP. I LOVE them both but prefer Daytonas over Subs due to the better fit on my wrist. So I would take that Daytona over the Sub but if I had a wrist half an inch bigger, I may prefer the Sub.

My wrist is between 6.5 and 6.75 depending on how you measure....in case anyone was going to ask.

I can't put my finger on why, but I just don't care for the yellow gold sub with black dial. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful watch and I see the allure, but it just doesn't sing to me personally.

If you like blue, the sub has to win out between these two
