I've asked my AD for a 5711P and was told politely that I would need to go on the secondary market.
So either they are making them for preferred clients only, or they really have discontinued. I think it is probably the first option, but my ego prefers the second.

You don't? I see the difference, the blue is much richer and deeper, and more blue, the 5711/5712 blue is more grey/blue, the 5711P blue is really awesome, as well as the 5980-AR blue which is awesome but more like an electric blue, I think I prefer the PT blue, it's really awesome, the only thing is that the watch weighs a ton, 290 grams more or less, that's more than twice the weight of my 5712 and twice of my AP ceramic diver

Well, they never made it... Officially
It seems only a few were made and sold to some loyal customers.

It is very hard to find one but I saw a thread saying PP recently made some with a white dial and precious stones on dial and bezel, definitely not cup my of tea but it's platinum...

Another difference that imo makes this version much nicer than the ss one is that the hands and markers' contour matches the color of the case. If there's one thing I don't love about the ss 5711 is exactly the golden contour of the hands/marks. This may look like minor detail to some, but for me this what makes the blue ss model less sporty than the ivory dial version. As for 5711P, it's very, very close to perfection imho.

Agree, other than availability and price. Tried one on briefly from a collector friend of a friend and it was most def not for sale from him.

Pics of two together.

Well, there is no price...

It is the price you are ready to pay for it and the price an owner could accept for a piece he does not sell.

That seems like a very particular observation to weigh so heavily...

Can't say I realize or appreciate the difference, really looks the same to me.

Wow that 5711P is an amazing piece but I would be perfectly happy with the 5711 SS.
