DRAKE' Rolex - Stickers left on Pearlmaster

I see that the artist of the decade, Drake, has left his factory stickers on his polished lugs. I told you guys the sticker craze is going to be the norm!

I was a factory rep for youth oriented outerwear in the early oughts and I spent a massive amount of time in NYC. Alongside Timberland boots the sports cap maker New Era was huge with this demographic and to avoid pirating they had a hologram sticker that they put on the brim and the fashion at the time became to leave all the stickers on your New Era cap to prove authenticity. I’m old enough to remember Minnie Pearl and I found this endlessly amusing.

He's rented it, or has it 'on approval' and been told not to remove 'em.

It's a DJ; it'll go down in value, stickers or not.

He has no idea the sticker is still on. Might even still have the tag on the sleeve of his sport coat

Larry, please please watch this YouTube video, from 1 minute to 3:30!!

It's remarkable what he has accomplished. He's created so many songs, and he rarely ever misses!

https://youtu.be/-HAuK8Z6q6I

And one of his lyrics, he says, "I have more slaps than the Beatles". Ummm yeah, he's right. And that's really really amazing.

One thing he was involved in that is not so amazing: Virgil from Louis Vuitton did to this PP Nautilus for him . I believe there are only two out there, and one of them keeps switching amongst the hands of dealers. He has a respectable collection otherwise.

When he says "Virgil got a Patek on my wrist going nuts" this is what he was talking about

Sure he could buy one and leave the sticker on but did he?

I'm sure when Rolex hands these out to influencers they're told to keep the stickers on. I don't believe for a second that most of these people showing of at awards shows and other "look at me" places own anything they wear from the shoes, clothes or jewelry. Again, not to say they couldn't or don't but it's very common for them to wear loaned items. They're basically the human equivalent of a sponsored race car. Instead of vinyls stuck all over them it's clothing labels and watches/jewelry.

When music videos were popular it was the same thing. Those artists didn't own the cars, houses or much of anything shown. Hell, there's so much heavy handed audio corrections on vocals these days we aren't even getting their true voices.

^ This. It's not that he can't afford it, but rather getting paid to advertise by wearing it.

Drake is the biggest rapper in modern culture, probably worth around half a billion USD. I would hardly refer to him as an "influencer"

He certainly isn't sponsored by Rolex either.
