I am new to the Rolex world... what is considered a sports model? Also, is the Oyster Perpetual one?

I bought a SS black dial Sub date in 2017 after being on a wait list for around a month. Was told two months atleast but then got a got in a month and was pleasantly surprised. Was my first luxury watch. GMT ii batman was also available at retail.. but wasn’t sure. I liked the classic look of the sub more and the GMT ii bezel looked a little busy to me then. Plus got a nice deal on the sub and the BLNR was available only at retail
But am happy I bought the SS sub and didn’t get the TT bluesy instead then! Was lusting after the bluesy but it was over my limit that time. Now I think I don’t like TT models as much. Though still love the blue dial. |

Was looking for the CHNR for a year +.
Ended up walking into an AD reasonably local to me I’d never tried before and got it there 10 days later. He’ll be getting my business from now on. |

Most recently, BLNR the day I asked for one in November '17. Then I was asked if I wanted a BLRO on Basel day 2018. Store received their first in June, got mine in December. Asked for a black dial Daytona in February, told to expect a year or less.

3 years for a Daytona
1 year + for the BLRO I visit the AD +/- once a month, and not a small hint of a sign that it come soon, don’t even know where I am on the list. Probably by 2025 for the BLRO and 2050 for the Daytona. The problem is, they can’t tell me if the delivery is in the morning or the afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
