I have regurgitation tendencies after ten seconds of listening to him.

I've seen this kind of mania in the numismatic field back in the late Eighties.

The coin market at that time was as high as it has ever been, because people were pushing graded and certified coins as part of a diversified portfolio.

Everyone wanted on the bandwagon while the getting was good, but in time all kinds of problems arose regarding the grading system and the accuracy thereof and in the twinkling of an eye, the coin market crashed.

There was much weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth as a result.

I was between college and grad school, so I put a few hundred dollars into some Morgans and then after grad school, I decided that I needed the money and had to sell.

I got hosed, but luckily, I didn't lose a fortune and the money that I did get back was plenty enough to see me through a rough patch.

I see similarities in what is going on now, except now you've got tons of watch investment evangelists all over the internet convincing people that the world will always give a flying flip about watches, especially luxury watches.

That interview he did with FPJ's brother was awful. The way he was talking about how FPJ isn't dead yet and how much the watches will be worth when he passes when his brother is standing right there.

The hilarious part is that it seems Kevin has just decided F it I’m going to exploit every angle I can to get a leg up on collectors for allocations. He has to have better uses of his time but like many of us he’s obsessed and chasing watches lol

Thank you for sharing Danny. Very interesting video. Mr. Wonderful always seems full of it, but he is a good guy. He sure does have an insane watch collection. He is true watch collector.

You're just upset you can't find a crotch shot of Kevin like you can Paris (and please, no Kevin sex tape as NO HUMAN wants to see that! ).

He may like watches, but it’s not for the traditional reasons most have.

I know a few folks that know him. Some just in passing as they have vacation condos on the same building.

I have heard all good things. He is supposedly super polite and nice to everyone.

I definitely am not contradicting you, so please forgive me.

But he does appear to be a true watch collector. However, he also clearly defines himself as an investor.

And given the current market, it is difficult imho, to fault anyone for working the numbers behind the watches.

Just my thoughts.

He freely admits that people should be careful because it is so easy to become obsessed with pursuing watches and that he is obsessed.

On the comparison to other collecting bubbbles, with watches at least you can still wear them and tell time/date etc. Mobile phones and smart watches seem to have had zero effect on dampening people’s desire to wear watches and own multiple watches.

Totally hear what youre saying but the 80s were much simpler times, now there are serious issues with the economy, the world is much more integrated and the internet blows everything up. So the bull market for collectibles is different this time and may last much longer. Imagine the outrage around here if we ever get "graded watches"
I don't know what those coins are worth now, but like I said the coin market has never been higher.

The 2020s are not the 1980s, but they were not simple times to me, but my point is that social media creates the opportunity to convince even more people that they should invest in something that is likely a fad.

I've said many times that I don't know anything about money. I'm just relating an anecdote about a situation that reminds me of previous time when people carried away with a bad idea.

No offense taken!

He is a collector going by definition, but his last interview with FPJ’s brother made it obvious his knowledge regarding watches is only superficial. That said, I’ll still watch his interviews for entertainment.

If O’Leary is to now be a respected (not too respected) Jim Cramer watchy with any negative opinion being unwarranted, then Vlady from Vlady’s diamonds is a living legend. Recognize true genius when you see it kids.

He's obviously building a brand around himself, and being one of the big watch collectors out there is part of that. He has a vested interest in pumping up the brands he's invested into.

As long as treats those around him well, I wish him all the success in the world.
