My horology world is expanding

Have been a Rolex owner since 2004, now have 2 of them and wanted a third (GMT function). Not going grey and my AD can't give me any assurances on when they can get me a piece, if ever. On top of that I am starting to feel a bit more wary about Rolex, always situationally aware but the rise in value is starting to be a bit of a security concern. So I looked for a less pricey travel / casual watch and ordered a Stowa B dial, job done. However this has taken me down a rabbit hole way beyond the brands like IWC that I previously admired. I am now somewhat smitten by the Nomos line, fortunately there is an AD here but also interested in Sinn and others and now checking this sub-forum regularly.

A week ago I had barely heard of these brands and while I will always keep a Rolex I think I will give up on acquiring another and expand into this enticing new world. I'm actually kind of excited and am becoming a bit of a watch nerd late in life (57). Is this a journey many have made, just interested in your views and reactions?
