How To Buy 15500 (gray market)

Hey guys,

Really would like to purchase a 15500 black dial. I know I have little chance of getting one for retail as I have no purchase history at all. I am willing to pay gray market (as close to $40k as possible). Just not sure where to buy from. I've heard of horror stories on Chrono24.

Any advice?

Also, as far as long term price outlook goes, should I expect prices in the secondary market to drop at all within the next year or so? I know the car market is also nutty right now, but everyone is expecting it to come back down to normal in the next year due to the chip shortage hopefully being taken care of.

Stop the madness. Pick yourself up from crying about not being able to get a RO at retail. Call or better yet get into an AP boutique and have a normal conversation about life, yourself watches or whatever else comes up. Thank them for their time and then stay in contact with them periodically and maybe even make another face to face meeting. You may not get that RO tomorrow but I'm sure you will get it.

Then take all that extra money you saved because you got your
watch at retail and parlay that cash it into your second AP. Yes, the second one that you will get from the AP boutique at retail again.

Let us know how you make out.

I think you'll be fine with any of the main trusted sellers. DavidSW is gold standard, but Nashville Watch is a bit cheaper if they have stock.

Congrats in advance on enjoying an amazing watch.

With respect @10XRolex, I don't think OP was crying or whining. I think he was realistic and just asking for input on how to go about getting a deal done.

I know nothing about Nashville Watch, but the 15300ST on their site looks quite nice. Bezel looks crisp, and of course the 15300 is a very cool watch overall.

Material goods sells new APs and also have some pre-owned stock. You might check with them.

I know he is not crying; just a bit of sarcasm. But saying don't give in without a strong fight. With a bit of fight, personality and tenacity that watch can be had at retail.

Have you tried reaching out to Takuya? I sourced my 15707ce from him as it was no longer available at the time and the transaction was fantastic - he always has a good AP selection.

Fair enough. You are probably right.

But maybe puglife is a K street lobbyist and has the cash the spend but not time? Or maybe is President Biden and decided it’s time to upgrade from the blue date just?

I had a great experience with both Takuya and Nashville. You may need to spend closer to $45K for a 15500.

Yes please elaborate on the horror stories. I’ve heard many of the ones posted aren’t actually available…

i appreciate the help fellas. paying retail would be nice, but i also don't want to wait 2+ years to get one.

on an unrelated note, i see a used one that has only the rubber bracelet with it. how much would it cost to get a geniune ap bracelet?

Good luck getting a 15500 at retail from MG without a huge purchase history. You have a far better chance at a boutique. Why anyone bothers with MG when there’s a boutique nearby is beyond me.

Nothing wrong with gray. Even people with decent purchase history can’t get 15500’s from the boutique these days. If you have excess cash and want your watch now, why not?
