So happy to join the 216570 club today!
Locating a clean polar dial was very hard (well at least for me) and thanks again to Peter Lee for working with me on this deal! I have 8+ in wrists and here is my Rolex journey to date for those interested in reading. First, I never felt like the 40mm cases suited me. Almost looked feminine on my large wrists. I loved each one, and it’s not a knock on them, but 39-40mm was just too small IMHO. I started in the early 2000’s with a non-maxi dial sub. Classic but too small. Later I would try a two tone date just…beauty just too small again. Next I tried the EXP 2 39mm. No brainer, liked the gmt design but again too small. Then came the DSSD and I thought wow, this is perfect! After buying 1, selling, and re-buying to try again at 44m it was just a hulk of a watch for a daily, bye-bye. I took a break for a couple years then boom…the new SD43…lighter that the DSSD and still 43mm. SOLD. Sad news is this IMHO. Still way too top heavy and bulky and thick…bummer…also at the end of the day it just struck me as an inflated sub (i.e. too common of a look – they are everywhere) with 1 dark red line. A bit boring for me I guess. After all this I thought I want comfort, so I asked on the forum and everyone said YM40. I took the advice, bought a rhodium, and yes it was comfy, no doubt, but for me again just too petite. I’m running out of options at this point! Not that I want a 60mm watch here guys, but with modern day trends 40mm is almost in the female cases are jewelers. I just about gave up looking (since I missed the boat on the 42mm case increase years ago somehow) and luckily I stumbled into this polar dial that pops! Anyhow, it’s been a long journey and I hope I can settle in a bit now with this 216570 that appears to be well proportioned to my larger wrist size. I hope my personal experience here helps another person with larger wrists since we really don’t have too many Rolex options in terms of symmetry. |

Mine contribution. First wanted a SubC, but this one is more under the radar. Have to see one in person and without the plastic to appreciate the beauty.

What a great watch...and the only logical choice of color is both.
