No comprende. Do you mean move the hands counterclockwise to make the date go backwards? If so, no.

7750s are robust but fickle. On a 7750 never set the date using quickset when the hour hand is between 9pm and 3pm advance the hour hand between 3pm and 9pm first. Learned the hard way this can mess up the movement. Mine changes at 4am now...hopefully you didn’t muscle it at the wrong time of day may have broke something lose

You mean between 9pm and 3am, I suppose...
Besides, I feel that the quickset only works in one direction, increasing the date, not decreasing it (at it was the initial question of OP). |

If the watch hasn’t been worn I always move time forward until the date changes then I know if it’s am or pm.I then set time and then change date. Generally I do this in the morning or early evening after work so avoiding the 9-3, whether it’s rumour or not!

There is no such myth, on a lot of watch movements you should not set the date within a specific time slot because they change the date slowly. The manual usually specifies the interval and if it is the case.
On Rolex movements this is not the case, they change the date with a different mechanism instantly and you can go backwards, forwards and change the date whenever, whatever suits your needs. The 7750 in the big block is an ETA movement and has some restrictions. |

I believe it can damage movements that do not have instantaneous date changes.
