You have to deal with a watchmaker with Rolex parts account or the RSC. Purchasing one on the secondary market you are going to pay big $$

Perfect, thanks. Checking out the ones for sale from individuals, it looks like about 250...so I’ll be checking out the rsc and/or looking for a watchmaker with an account next. Thanks for the help :)

Another thing that I have noticed is that the inside of the bracelet on this watch doesn’t have a button for the divers extension piece. Is that normal for this model? It does have the divers extension, but it just snaps out of place instead of using a button like I’ve seen on some of these bracelets. I have some photos but won’t be able to post them until later today.

They updated the diver extension on these when they were updated around year 2000 (they got gold through clasp, solid end links, new diver extension, no holes case).
I'm sure both versions had an O link, but perfectly normal to see the actual O link removed in ignorance when sizing the watch..so check your spare link if you have any.. you should have 12 links in total.. |

I’ll still post some pics in a little bit to see if everything still looks alright. |

Got the correct bezel insert in. Here are some pics. Ive got some of the gold insert (front and back), some of the silver insert w/ gold pip (front and back), and then the silver one installed on the watch. I can certainly tell a difference between the two pips. Excuse some of the awkward angles...I tried my best to get different angles without glares from the light.

OP, Are you sure the link you posted is for the same watch? In the FS link, there’s no green sticker on the caseback or bracelet sticker plus different box. Unless I’m missing something.

Can you define bracelet sticker? And the box in the top photos of the for sale ad is a display box that he used for the photos (I presume)...if you'll look at the last photo that he posted, that is the included original box (and other pieces). |

That's it now.. much better. I'm pleased that you can see yourself the difference between the aftermarket (fake) pip/insert and the genuine item which just exudes quality.
I like the fact your insert has some fading and do not bother yourself about it one bit as there are many variations of this original insert, from pale gold to deep yellow.. I think the paler it is the better. It looks to be a nice clean watch too. Nice. |
