I've had this 26 years or more. In that time I've replaced the clasp once and also the hoop that holds the cross around the chain.
It was a gift from my wife when we were dating I think. I do know that I stopped wearing it for a time when my son (now 22) was little and had grabby baby hands.

I have two gold chains that I rotate. The first one is a 22inch (87 grams) 18KT curb-link chain with an Australian Koroit Boulder Opal pendant. The pendant is mounted in 14K. I had this chain made in Hawaii about 18 years ago, along with a bracelet. The opal I purchased 1.5 years ago and had the pendant made to fit it.

The second chain is a 22inch Thai Baht Chain, 23KT (45 grams) with a Siberian Nephrite Jade pendant. I have owned many baht chains over the past 40 years. I traveled to Thailand numerous times while in the Air Force. This particular chain I purchased a little over a year ago. The pendant I got about two years ago.

I like gold and the bling things. :)

Cheers, Tim

I’m renting a Corvette in LA this week (they were out of Boxsters) and I really feel like I should be wearing one. Does that count?

Great stuff keeps coming thru. I am delighted to say I went back and instead of getting a chain or the Omega I was looking at, I just went back and bought the Rolex Ref 6549. I’ll have to send it to LAWW.

Beautiful Jade/ Gold pieces. They look great together. Live that Baht chain as I am a huge fan of the Baht.

Corvette absolutely you should be rocking the gold chain, some shooters and an open chest with the top down

Yes, correct emeralds. Just over 16cts total weight. The center stone is 3.15 cts Brazilian and all others are Colombian. The two natural emerald crystals on each side are lovely (3.5 and 4.5cts). Really all the stones are (the top emerald cut stone is ~2.75cts and the bottom square cut is ~1.75cts). One more small round cut is present on the back of the piece. All of the emeralds, except the center Brazilian, show a moderate pink/ red UV Fluorescence which tends to indicate high(er) chromium levels that are desirable to many in natural emeralds.

I sourced all stones and came up with the basic design, then had a friend of mine make the piece with creative license on all details. Lost wax casting using 18k that was then finished by layering additional 18k and 22k over the base (lost wax portion) of the pendant. Took 9 months start to finish.

For what is worth...buy a chain that is long enough to go over your head and have a jeweler install a link in place of the clasp.
I have a similar medal of St. Peregrine Laziosi blessed by Pope Francis. He’s the patron saint of cancer patients. I wear it on a modest 2.7mm 26” David Yurman box chain, fits right over my head and the medal is hidden even when I leave the top couple buttons open. I’m hoping I don’t have to trade it in for a St. Joseph medal.

Collected a lot of 18/24k. gold, chains, jewelry, bullion etc in the Middle East. Always a welcome gift and a hedge on inflation. Besides, it’s just nice to fondle.

Same except I know where mine ended up. I sold it when gold hit 1k per ounce about 10 years back

Hey all, what length necklace do you recommend? I’ve been wearing a 20” WG link necklace for years. It falls a few inches below my collarbone. I was thinking of having it shortened 2”, so it sits right around my collarbone.

I always get it long enough to fit it over my head and not have to fiddle with the clasp, the weakest link. I don’t care where it lays on my chest.

Good point, but I never take mine off. I’ve had mine for almost 20 years and thinking of shortening it...

This. I rotate between 2 platinum chains simply due to preference for white metals.

What do you mean? Here in Thailand gold is priced by and referred to as baht, so it's strange to hear someone in the west referring to baht.

I have a gold chain gifted from an old gf, but I never wear it. I just don't like yellow gold. I don't like how Thais wear it when they shower, sleep, etc.. and I am too lazy to take it on and off daily.

Problem solved.
