Poll: Explorer 216570 black or white
Which one is the most popular of both references? Do you like the black or the polar dial?

I'm 50:50 where is the option on that?
I think the black is so good a re-creation of the original, and the white, although "clown looking" is very cool. Had both on display when on holiday, but was not looking for that model then, would like to try one on, to see how "big" it is. I had the polar 16570 back in the day. Did not appreciate how good it was then! |

I would choose white. Why? Because it's unique :)

They're both fantastic, but something about the white dial is a little more special to me. Not many in the sports line that have a white dial.

I have the polar 16570 but for the newer 216570 I would get the black dial because the center of the hands are blacked out giving the hands a floating look that I like

I say Polar and predict that polar wins the poll. Too soon?

Polar
I prefer it because it’s different than most black dial sport Rolex. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I own and prefer the polar. Nothing wrong with the black, though.

I guess the white Daytona scarcity made white now a king! I chose white as I love the color contrast on it!

I think white is the dial for this reference in my opinion. Nothing wrong with the black, I just don’t care for the “ghost hands”

Polar is going to win this poll but the black version is more popular. I've asked ADs out of curiosity and they've all told me the black is more popular and the people who buy the white are usual people will multiple Rolex watches.
Obviously, on a Rolex collector forum the Polar will win out but we are the minority. |

If you have multiple Rolex you have multiple black dials and the polar is best to mix it up. If it’s your only Rolex - Black.

In this thread I'll say black.
In another thread I'll say white. Flip a coin... Get both...maybe...but I do like the black's satin matte dial better.. but then again there isn't another sport Rolex(Daytona) with an awesome white dial like this very unique, especially with all the black options. See what I mean, good luck. |

Black for me. The 40mm was my first ever Rolex and I’ve changed it for the 42mm version. Still love it.

Poll: Explorer 216570 black or white
My only two Rolex’s which is why I went black. To me the black is more versatile and since it’s currently my only all SS Rolex i didn’t want to be limited with a white dial. SD will be my next and I don’t see myself having more than 3-4 Rolex’s...maybe after getting the SD I’ll sell the black and get the polar if I ever get the itch. I completely agree that people with multiple Rolex’s would favor the polar to add to the diversity of their rotation. I love the explorer 2 and did not just settle for it bc I couldn’t find another model. Like the look and functionality of it..considered a SD over it but I felt the GMT complication was more practical than the depth rating of the SD. I also prefer the phantom hands on the black dial. I’ve always felt the black outlined hands against the white dial on the polar looked off to me and dare I say a bit cheap looking. Just my opinion so don’t hate lol. I was also looking for an everyday piece and thought the explorer two was more comfortable on the wrist and easier to read at a glance. Still love the SD and like I said it’ll be my next watch.
