The 550s and AMG have pretty high MF.

MF is based mostly on units. If you produce low units such as the 550 and especially AMGs, the MF is much, much higher.
Ok, now that makes sense. AMG MF rates are never subsidized plus the MSRP increase, the G550 will lease around the last gen G63. New loaded G63 will take you over 3k with 0 down. I'm hoping the MF would come down a little by the time mine arrives. Current MF is nutzzzzzzz

They will likely milk the MF until the buzz dies down. It's the same story with every new MB release. I remember when the new gen S class came out, the buy payment was lower than the lease payment. However I agree, it will come down at some point.

Well- I’ve absolutely love the car for the short time I had it. Last weekend, there were a string of BB Gun shootings in our neighborhood. Approximately 50 cars were hit on Saturday night and then another 25 on Monday night.

Of course, I opted to leave the car out of the garage on sat night and it was hit. It’s been in the body shop for a week and the news is better than expected. Initially I was told 60-90 days for glass (they shot 4 windows). Turns out, they got the glass this week from Germany, so I am on my way to having it back.

All and all it is a shitty situation- but we’ve had a lot going on in the family (lost a baby), so this was rather muted.

Anyway, when I get it back I’ll post some photos etc. As I said earlier, I’m not a car guy- this is the best driving thing I’ve ever been in!

Sorry to hear about the baby! Tragedies like this reminds us about what is most important in our lives- family and health! My prayers are with you.

I came really close to getting a G63, but just couldn't get comfortable with the performance, and in particular the handling.

It's a cool looking car, but I've been driving Cayennes since 2005 which is like being on rails around curves, as compared to the G Wagon which feels like it's going to tip over.

We have had 2 g63. We currently have a 2017 g63 waiting on our 2019 g63 to be built which we are excited because this year the interior is actually luxurious. Here is my review.
1. Either you love them or hate them. I have never met anyone who was on the fence. Either they think it is awesome or the ugliest thing ever.
2 they ride like crap. And are very noisy on the highway in the wind.
3. The twin turbo is fun to drive
4. Not a lot of room inside. The new ones have more cabin room
But let’s put it this way if we take our family of 5 we always take my Escalade
5 the 2018 and older are not very nice inside especially for a sticker of 150k
6. Common problems are noisy brakes since they are so big , constant realignment , the cars blow cam plugs often which are cheap parts for Mercedes to repair but we have had that issue on both of our g63

My wife loves the car so she gets to get one. I am super Excited for the new interior and suspension etc. my wife is getting the 2019 g63 diamond white with full black out package and the designo exclusive interior.

If you like attention then it is a car for you. Driving it around town it commands attention everywhere we go

All true points except I don’t have problem #6. Have not experience any noise issue with my 16. 19s is def an exciting model to look forward to.

Love the matte paint. Is the interior two tone red/black?

Yes. I think the image is a bit dodgy, but I am considering ordering the new slightly more boring 350 Diesel G Wagon.

I have been a Range Rover man for the last 15 years but now fancy a change.

The last Mercedes I owned was not a pleasant experience though. At the time I promised never to get another! (It was a 1997 CLK coupe - an era when Mercedes quality control, product and customer service went into alarming decline)

If you get one, make sure it’s got warranty. My friend had some control module go bad on his and it costed him 5k just to get it reprogrammed

If you can pick it up at retail, DO IT. They're going for $50k over sticker here.
Where are they going over 50k over sticker??? I would not pay 50k over for any car, since these are depreciating assets.

Back in February when I posted that... a friend had the edition 1 on its way. The dealer offered him a check for 100k to let them sell it to a dealer in Florida. A quick glance on eBay shows they’re still holding a huge mark up.

People pay a lot to be exclusive. Similar to watches it would seem.

I have a 2019 G550. It blows my mind how much better it is than even a 2018 G63. Chose it over a 19 Rover SVR and ‘16 Bentayga
