Recommend me a new messenger bag

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some input and new bag for myself. I’ve been using a timbuk2 for about a year now and it needs to be replaced.

Some info about myself
- under $500
-Needs to fit 15” laptop
-travel friendly (I travel a few times a month)
- I don’t carry a lot extra stuff I’m a minimalist for the most part.
Charging cable and brick
Portable battery
Small note book and extra pen
A few business cards

I just bought one from Tumi.

It’s great. I’m very happy with it.

Saddleback Leather is always a good place to look and consider.

Consider the Tumi slim messenger for minimal bulk.

https://www.tumi.com/p/slim-messenger-026202D2/

About $200 and free shipping...

And has the pass through sleeve for longer trips where you have a roller bag too.

If you like traditional, look at Hardys fishing bags. Awesome, canvas and leather and a company does an organiser insert.

I travel with mine all the time. Handmade in UK, which is rare these days.

Try Satchel and Page. Love my mail bag. Best made bag I’ve ever had. Gets better with age.

Love Saddleback but have ended up giving away or selling most every one I have bought because they are heavy. But I need to look at a their slim messenger where I can get one with a brand on it.

Another vote for TUMI here. I’ve had mine for nearly a year and abuse it daily. Still looks brand new. The Alpha line is perfect for business but has that touch of rugged that gives it down character

A custom Timbuktu is the best recommendation for a true messaged bag. I had one for for many, many years. But, as with everything, no one uses messenger bags anymore. And I ended up getting a leather backpack. I literally was the only guy left at work still using a messenger bag. Photo curtousy of Google.

BTW, if you like executive look Shanola makes a very fine looking messenger bag.

Hard to go wrong with Tumi - I use the Slim Commuter daily and it's great. They have various models so you can find one that will fit your size requirements.

I avoid the Tumi or Tumbuki,...the most common brand...they remind me of the cheap Michael Kors, Tiffany, etc..

I hope you find a unique bag....

For a legit messenger bag I don't think you'll find a better bag than one from Mission Workshop. I have the Monty (iirc, had it for about three years now and still going strong) and absolutely love it.
Lot's of reviews on youtube for it. It's the ultimate in organizing stuff and very comfortable to carry even with a blazer as you can sling it on one side instead of across.
