In my opinion this is the perfect Rolex in terms of size and proportions. It’s currently my daily wearer and hard to take off.

Is it possible to send to Rolex for a service and while it’s there ask to have them replace the glass for a non-cylcops?

From what I’ve read on here, the cyclops is glued on and can be removed by yourself if you so chose to do so.

How large is your wrist? My wrist is 6.5" and after getting used to the SD43, I find 40mm watches like Subs and GMTs are too small.

The SD43 is perfectly balanced in proportions. Where the SD4000 is 40mm that is disproportionate and thick (same thickness as the SD43). But it may be the shortest lived Rolex release making it collectable.

I also tried on a Deepsea and also found it to be too thick for my wrist size.

The SD43 reminds me of how a Panerai would fit, but better.
hey thank you. my wrist is about 6.8-7? i guess. i could fit a 44mm pam and a 47mm pam would be pushing it.

DSSD is a no go for me, i feel tired for my wrist just buy looking at it. hahaha

touche.

i thought so too. but the prices for SD4000 have risen. gonna start and look for one

Great watch! Although I agree, would have loved it more without the cycliops and perhaps a mm or two less for my wristsize... but still a beauty.

Easier to read head on.. First, position the watch, then, look at the date. Is that the way it should really work? I'd rather get a decent view of the date at any position. It actually makes reading the date worse at many angles. I'm okay with it, as I have the watch, but not convinced it was the right move.

I take your point but Those many angles don’t work well for my eyes any longer. Still love my 16600 but those numbers are quite small without it.
It’s not as polarizing of an issue for me. I like my SDs with and without the cyclops.

Congrats on the purchase. I literally picked my 126600 up yesterday and couldn’t be more happy with it. It’s way less top heavy than my Deepsea blue. On another note, I hear roumers constantly about this watch being discontinued or them switching from the red detailing back to white. Has anyone heard the same?

Maybe I'm just used to it but i don't remember ever having to adjust the watch before seeing the date. Just seems second nature I suppose. My wife's watch (Hamilton) doesn't have a cyclops and I can't read that thing to save my life. So i really like having the cyclops and find it very useful. I know a lot of people don't like the like the look of it but it is a Rolex signature and I'm fine with its appearance.
