Gold Watches + Heat Conduction + Heat, Sun etc, make them warmer to the feel?

Hello all you WG and YG watch owners.

So I've been contemplating a WG BLRO, but I fear that it will be 'hot' due to the heat conducting properties of gold.

You see, I live in Miami, FL and find myself in a lot of situations where I'm exposed to heat or exposed to the sun (and water!)

The main thing that has held me back is this idea that since gold conducts heat, that the watch will get warm, or feel warmer than a SS watch?

Anyways, I'd love some input from WG or YG watch owners that wear them in the heat (80F+ weather) or in the sun while at the beach or pool!

Thanks!

C.

Been wearing my “Smurf” exclusively since I purchased it 2 months ago. Haven’t noticed it any warmer than normal here in SoCal.

Beautiful watch! Also I'd argue Santa Monica has the best weather in the world :D

My favorite US city btw.

Gold conducts electricity. It reflects both infra-red and ultra-violet radiation.

You will not gain any more heat wearing a gold watch vs. a stainless one.

Wow! That means a lot coming from a Miami resident Miami is an internationally renown city. Playground of the rich and famous. Next time you’re here in SoCal, PM me. The wife and I will take you and the significant other out to dinner.

On a “watch” note, I did see the new WG BLRO at the preview event her at the Geary’s Santa Monica. It was beautiful. Especially with the new blue dial. I never really liked it until they changed the dial. I hope you’re able to get one🤜🏽🤛🏽

OK guys so I'm going to take your advice and move with this purchase. I will be waiting to try on the SS Jubille BLRO one before I make a final decision.

We have a 'try on' event in the Miami Rolex Boutique may 14th.

Lets see!

Haven't noticed any difference in comfort between SS, TT, and YG watches in Singapore (heat + humidity).
