Is this a weird idea ?

Is it weird that I am thinking of having 116610LN with the blue sunburst dial?

How would this mod look ?

It wouldn't float my boat. The YG markers and yellow text wouldn't go with the all-stainless watch, and I don't think the black bezel would complement the dial.

A properly matched sunburst blue dial and bezel on a SS watch - basically a blue version of the LVc - would be awesome, but that's not a mod, obviously.

That would look pretty good. I actually like the sunburst green LVc, but think the green bezel makes it childish. I would def embrace Rolex making different Subs with black bezel only.

But as Jackson mentioned, how would you do it and have matching colors? Unless you’re just speaking hypothetically, the only way you could accomplish this is a TT or YG dial. That would look absolutely horrid on stainless.

^that one doesn’t look great though. It needs the sunburst effect to bridge the contrast between the blue and black. Though I’m biased as I don’t like smurf dials, seem way too flat.

I grant the flat blue dial with the black bezel looks better than I thought it would, but if you're talking about an actual mod using an in-production sunburst blue SubC dial, you're still dealing with YG markers and yellow text, which won't have the same look as what's shown in these pictures. Then you would have to decide whether you would also use YG hands, or stick with WG.

Agreed. The White gold dial looks perfect.
