In fact, I did not even know about that particular interview when I originally posted. Paying MSRP is not an option now on this watch and it won't be for A LONG LONG time in my opinion. I think the prices will only keep going up, which makes it like buying a 5711 when it was say going for ~$40,000. I remember when everyone said how crazy it would be to spend that much on a 5711, its a bubble, now in hindsight that was a great price, and doubtful it will ever drop below that. Who knows for sure how high the YG Daytona will climb, but I do think whatever price you can get now, will be a deal in a couple months. |

I placed an order several months before the whole JM interviewd. Well I received a called from my AD the other day that they will not be able to fullfill my order. Rolex told them that there is a 4-5 year wait on this particular piece. So I think this piece will indeed super hard to obatain....

there's a used blue dial 5711 up for 71k right now, and the 5711/1r is going for double retail, not sure if anything will match that insanity

Nope. This watch will never be more than a platona.

There just are none. I think it will get up to double retail at some point and rival 5711 insanity, maybe not top it but it is up there. It is much harder to find than SS Daytonas right now, no contest. Sure SS you pay over double retail for BNIB, but you can get them. YG Green dial Daytonas, are just next to impossible to find BNIB. And watch out for bait and switch ads and scammers and sources asking for a payment in advance to wait. BUYER BEWARE ON THIS ONE!! Stick with ADs or trusted sources or wait. |

It is a very attractive piece, but I don't think it's something I'd wear personally. At least not outside of the holidays (the red accents on the green dial give me Christmas vibes)...really beautiful shade of green though.

Wanna bet...
Seriously Platonas are going for around $65K-$70K BNIB from grey and are certainly more than two years ago. But YG Green Daytona is already around $55K from LEGITIMATE grey, and I think that will easily hit $65K+ on grey market this year and pass platona on grey market anyway. All posts online in low 40's are long sold or scams. This watch is NOT to be found now at least by my long hours of trying to find one, again talking NEW. |

Gold isn't very popular with Muslims though as I think there is some religious reason for this , maybe one of our Muslim posters could confirm ? |

Yep. I can get one if I wanted one for a slight premium. No where near 55k not even close.

No it's just another watch with a premium. Much more niche demand for it.
I saw a couple in windows of greys under 50K USD last week in Hong Kong. A couple in the mid-50s. Don't fuel the hype and FOMO any more than necessary. Granted I am waiting for one from my AD. |

Definitely not IMO. It's kind of sad to see everyone act like sheeple after Mr. J C Mayer proclaimed this watch was the next hot model.
I think it blows over. |

I know there are listings BUT THEY DON' T HAVE THEM...
I am telling you call around, like I did... Only ACTUAL trusted dealers with NEW are selling over $50K... But hey, I appreciate the research, but I would be interested at those prices, but they do not have the watch. By the way BOTH your links.. SOLD. I called. Do your research man. You seriously do not know what you are talking about. Quote:

I spent a day calling all the sources, only ones that ACTUALLY have one under $50K are either sold out or suspicious...
You seriously do not have your pulse on the market for BNIB. Used I would not touch, unless DavidSW or trusted seller, too many scams. One source I found for $41,000 wants you to pay up front and wait three months... Does that sound legit?? That doesn't count, not only suspicious but clearly they do not have it right now. |

Under $50k call them, I bet they are sold or used or suspicious.
It is just crazy right now with this watch. Quote:

The links you provided were dead ends and one of those I tried before you posted them. So why did you share dead end links when all along you have one you can ship? Makes no sense at all. I hate to say this, but if you did have a BNIB (and that is a big if on my end), you could make more then $50K right now so it makes no sense why you would sell under market value when you don't even know me. Listen I don't doubt you have a lot of horological wisdom, but I just don't think you are really in the trenches on this particular watch right now and what is happening. The links you shared are evidence of this as they were both dated. I have been calling all around everywhere and there are only shady offers OR over $55K offers for BNIB. Here are ALL the Chrono 24 listings on the 116508 green dial in the U.S. ALL the under $50,000 listings I have called and watch has LONG since sold. Even some of the others at higher listed price do not have it. You can clearly see market value is well over $50K right now. 2019-06-12_02-33-45.jpg |

I just saw a grey dealer in the UK asking for £44k for BNIB and i thought it must have been a typing error. I bought this peice for £24k BNIB from a grey dealer in the UK 12 months ago and I never saw this happening! I think unfortunately alot of the unique PM watches are going to follow the same curve as the stainless sports models and just keep going up. I had the call from my AD that my white gold oysterflex daytona will be ready for collection this week- out of interest i checked the grey market and these are trading about £4k over RRP also...
