This I find annoying

I wonder if I am the only one that feel this way but it drives me bonkers when I click on a post and see that I already responded to the thread over a year ago. Why do some members feel the need to respond to posts that are so old, then say like 3 words in their response I think it would be great if the bump option only lasted a week or two max. If you don't know what I'm talking about I could gladly do a search and reply to every hologram thread over the past couple of years, this way when you log into the General Discussion sub-forum, you can look at pages and pages of hologram threads. Please tell me that I am not the only one who feels like this, I am a really laid back guy but I just think pulling up ancient posts is just dumb.

If you are one of the offenders, Thanks, now I feel better.

Great suggestion Trevor. Clicking on a very stale post only brings the dead back to life and puts it back in everyones face, as it was news. I agree, they should be out there, but not able to be updated after a reasonable period of time.

No. You are not the only one. I agree...

I was reading a thread for a few minutes the other day before I realized how old it was and that I had posted in it a long time ago. Time waster.

It's only annoying when I completely contradict everything I posted earlier.
Seriously, it seems to be happening more lately. Probably due to the increased number of new members. One bright spot though, the search function is being used.

x2

It's inherent to the growth and the number of new members.

I think it a great idea to put a time limit on threads, like lets say 20 days or so of inactivity on the thread. (this will keep the coffeeshop and open bar thread going at least )

And if somebody used the search function and still has a question, they could always start a new thread, stating which thread they read, and what they don't understand about it...

I agree. I've clicked on the "new posts" and then responded to something, only to discover afterwards that the thread was as old as I am.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who has noticed this.

I'm not crazy......... Now I just have to convince my wife.
