15300 vs 15450 dial plus size
Dear members,
Being confused after reading so much about APs' watches I wanted to know if one of you guys has photos of the 15300 and the 15450 with blue dials to compare. Since the light seems to be quite important Id like to see photos of these two beauties next to each other if possible or taken under same conditions. Is it true that the blue of the 15450 dial is not quite similar to the blue of the 15300 and also the white 15300 not quite the white (silver) 15450? Unfortunately in my country there is no AP boutique/AD currently so I am stuck on these questions. Judged from these photo with the Tudor BB (41mm), which would you think fits better on my wrist (6,5"/16,5cm) 15300 or 15450. Best, Lukas |

I would say a 15300ST(or 15202) would be perfect for a 7 inch wrist but good luck finding one. 15450 would fit a 6 inch wrist best imo. However in the end, its how you wear it and some people like smaller watches on big wrists or bigger watches on smaller wrists.

15400. While the case on the 15450 is good, the dial is too small imo

It seems you have 6.5 inch flat wrist. If that's the case, you will be able to pull of 15202 or 15300, but barely. The watch may feel large and the first links on each side of the watch case may not sit on your wrist.
15450 will be perfect for your wrist but people find it a little small, especially if you buy it expecting a sports watch. It is a perfect size dress watch, slightly bigger than DJ36, that feels sporty. Its upto you, a slightly large 15202 or slightly small 15450. |

Here's a blackbay on my wrist. Though it is a bit taller of a watch, so it looks bulkier.
And then a 15450st It's true what some have said that the 15450st looks larger in pictures than it does on the wrist. However I had a 15400st in white before and it just felt a tad large after awhile on the wrist. The 15450st feels a little bit more svelte for those with wrists on the smaller size. Here’s a couple more wrist shots of a 15450 and others that you may have access to as a reference.
My wrist is about 6.4 - 6.5” I tried the 15400 and it felt silly big. Probably could have pulled it off but I prefer the proportions of the 450. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

About your question on dial colors - can't speak for the blue dial, but the white/silver dials are definitely different. Even noticeable in pictures / youtube videos, despite the fact that you really have to see the dials in person to appreciate the effect.
The 15300/15202 older white dials are much more just white it seems - they shimmer a bit in the light but nothing like the 15450/15400 white/silver dials. It was one reason I didn't go for a 15300/15202 - I was set on the newer style white/silver dial which I think gives the blue a run for it's money. I think with the older dials, the blue is the way to go |

The 15450 is incredibly comfortable and well proportioned. The dealer breaker for me is the AP at 12 on the 15300, I vastly prefer the double stick on the newer iteration of the RO.
Also, the white/silver variant of the 15450 is incredible. Walks the line of dressier sports watch more than the blue does and I enjoy how the dial can change on an instant in different lightings. |

AlyRba: I wore my 1603 for a around two years as daily watch and it felt very comfortable and never game me the feeling of a small watch.
WristEnvy and Nick, Thanks for the photos, beautiful watches! Hard to decide on the dial! whan, that was my impression too and the new silver is quite a shiner. The blue of the 15300 looks very dark/navy whereas the blue of the 15450 seems more shining. AlexWazo: You are right, I also think the new white is incredible. I guess the way to go is to but the 15450 in white/silver and wait for a 15300 in blue for backup while waiting some years to get the call from the AD to pick up the 15202 :D |

I might be the odd one here but I have the same 6.5” wrist and I find 15400 a better fit for me.

I agree with you on this one, but obviously a matter of personal opinion and taste. I have a 6.5” flat wrist and the 15450 looked silly small on my wrist. 15400 is a bit large but completely doable as a sports watch. 15202/15300 would be perfect for your wrist IMHO, but you really can’t go wrong. 6.5” should be able to sport a 15400. I have ~6.75”. See pic:

On my 6.75 inch wrist, 15400 is just too clunky. “Can pull it off” doesn’t cut it for me at this price point. 15450 would be a good size but think you need to try on in person to see if the smaller dial esp relative to the height sits well w you (I’m still undecided). 15202 and 15300 are prob the sweet spot for your wrist.

39mm is indeed the sweet spot (15202 or 15300).

I think you could do the 15400 if you like to wear your watches in front of the wrist bone (like in the pics). If you tend to wear your watches behind the wrist bone, where the wrist is slimmer, then I think the 15450 would fit better.

In my opinion, the 15450 looks truly mid-size, where the 15300 still looks traditional but fills more space on the wrist.
The royal oak wears almost like a one-piece bracelet in my opinion, so the bigger the case size the better. However I must say the 15400 is just a little too massive lug-to-lug on my 6.5" wrist. The 15300 fits amazingly well, even better than the 15202. |

Yes I agree that while 39mm I’d probably the right size but 15400 is easily doable on 6.5” wrist. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

The 15450 will fit your wrist better but the 15300 will better retain value and if you think that there may be a possibility that you'll either trade or sell it down the road then this matters.

My opinion as a three year owner of a 15400 that have tried a few BBs. In my opinion a BB is much bulkier. I say a 15400 would look great on you.

Agree with Tomas. The BB feels massive on my wrist. If you’re comfortable with wearing a BB, then 15400 should be ok for you. |

15300 vs 15450 dial plus size
Few shots of my blue 15300 in slightly different lights/angles. My wrist is 7" for reference.

And in addition the 15300 has the canonical measurement (39 mm) according to Mr. Genta.

V25V, your pics are stunning!
I pulled a 15300 with white dial now, will get it next month and probably will change the dial color, but not yet sure 100% since the white also looks great! Thanks for the input so far, as soon as i have the watch on my wrist I will post here an update :)! Thanks again! |

Thank you! One of my favorites for sure. Have you asked APSC about swapping the dial out? It generally not that easy (meaning they won't do it, not can't). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Looking at your wrist with the TBB I'd definitely recommend the 15450 at 37mm. I wear a 36mm 14790 and its pretty much perfection.

Definitely 15400. Tried on 15450 once and it is really small, felt like a lady's watch....
