Rolliworks Short Review

After sending them my 214270 Explorer for a case polish and restore as it was quite beat up. I just wanted to give Rolliworks an A on a case/bracelet restoration. Came back so much better than I had expected. Edges on the bezel remained quite sharp even after polish.

My only gripe is the brushing on the backside of the mid case is incorrect but it's a minor detail relative to how much better the watch came back.

good to see.... i assume this was a light refinish / polish without any service?

i may need one of those for my Explorer in the future, glad to see it done well by an independent.

I would say this was lighter work, the bezel had many nicks and the case had a few dents in it. They nailed it.

Looks great!

Is there a reason why you chose this place over RSC?

They are nutoriously good doing restoration work and try to keep as much material on the watch as possible. RSC processes hundreds of watches a day so I assume they can't by nature pay as much attention to my watch to get it to perfection.

Rolliworks did not disapoint.

I’m guessing you mean the underside of the lugs weren’t done in radial angles relative to the arc of the midcase? Or did you mean the caseback?

I’m not a big fan of the material removed on the edge of the bezel at 12 o’clock depicted in the photo but it’s not easily seen when worn.

From your narrative it sounds like a 9.5 outcome on a scale of 10…

I have noticed an unspoken rule here on TRF, don't ask about money or cost.

What is backside of the mid case supposed to look like?

That information would be helpful to folks who don’t know..

Awesome!

I had them work on a Day Date for me earlier this year and was thrilled with the results.

Nice job, it didn’t look bad before the polish.
Now you can make your own marks

Those were before pictures. Sorry for not clarifying well. As per the back side it the radial arc didnt continue all around the backside of the case. I will get picks later. It stopped just before the crown and 9o clock. The brushing also looks strait and not radial. Overall a small small gripe. Roliworks did amazing work. I could not be happier.

For anyone wondering these were the before pictures.... Rolliworks had my watch to near mint and I am pretty picky about those kind of things.

They do great work. Mike worked on my 40 year old Jubilee bracelet and did an amazing job fixing the stretch. I highly recommend them.

Lmao looks like you’re not a huge fan of the factory finish on the explorer. Or maybe it was just the angle of the pic...

Looks great

Personally I wouldn’t have bothered and continued to add marks and dents as is expected wearing a Rolex tool watch. I would have only done that polishing work if I were going to sell it on. RW isn’t here in the UK which is a shame, as their work looks great. Rolex RSC can be butchers

Yes.
Few ever respond to those questions.
It is a moot point as every repair bill will be different anyway, depending on labor / parts involved.

I’m fine with the factory finish. There was a misunderstanding that the OP clarified (you can see it in
Post 22).

What I was commenting upon was a “before” picture - not after Rolliworks did their restoral to factory finish.
