it looks a bit too monotonous to my taste - will need to see it live to form a proper opinion

I saw this website has listed 'expect to be shipped by June 29'

Perhaps AP has given out expected allotment dates?
Interesting, Rox are not known as BS-ers so must be based on something. Maybe give them an email.

They have the Camo now, out this week.

I figured it had to be titanium, as 'IO' denotes Titanium/Ceramic per their official pricelist/catalog.

It will probably be in a different price category but if I want a grey-theme offshore, I will rather splurge for a Schumi Ti44.

Yes definitely but they also had errors with dial and strap colours!

This is a beauty I have been dreaming about. I even made my own photoshopped image and posted on it on the forums some months ago. So to finally see it happen is amazing. I can't wait to see one in the flesh. I can pull off the 44mm but I just prefer the aesthetics of the 42mm and the only reason I was holding it off was lack of ceramic dial.

Sorry Minimalist, but this isn't your ceramic Elephant, at all. Please see post 11 where I showed a comparison.

This is a plus in my book. I think the Elephant dial sort of merges all together without much contrast.

Website shows the black face ceramic bezel "Vampire" also with vertical brush lines and real world model have the rainfall bezel, so I'm not optimistic about that...

So, all models from SIHH and after SIHH presentations that our members tried are pre-production?

If true, great news

the only issue was that whilst i was invited to the AP
boutique to see all the new sihh releases the ONLY watch not available to see was the ghost. Hence i have yet to see a real ghost model in flesh. They still allowed me to order one so i have to wait and see.

And what kind of bezel Vampire had? All I have seen had the rainfall one...

Congrats in advance on your piece...

Can’t speak to all, but at least the one I tried on and others that didn’t have the brushing were pre-production and not final versions. Which is great news because the brushing makes a huge difference.

This is incredible news if so. Practically everyone’s pet peeve about the new Vampire was the lack of brushing on the bezel. The brushing definitely excudes a more luxurious look. Quite frankly it didn’t make sense for them to drop the brushing on the 42 models when it’s on all the 44 models.

I am just curious but are you guys who are pre-ordering paying list price for this new model? I mean like every other 42 they will be available at huge discounts from greys by late fall. I am not complaining. I like it and want one buy paying list on a 42 is suicidal unless you are a millionaire.

You’re living in the past my friend. AP is cutting out most ADs. In two years it’ll be almost all boutiques. Discounts will evaporate and secondary pricing will tighten. I’m not saying you can’t still save a grand or two by going grey and being patient at the moment, but for even medium hot models like the vampire, you’re not getting around 20k anymore.

I think you are living in the future my friend. Sorry. I could have got a vampire last week for 17k lightly used.

Yeah, I kind of agree w/ japenny to be honest. Royal Oaks, yes, getting hard to get a discount. Offshore models (that we're talking about) though....it's incredibly easy to get a discount...........

I think the new long awaited CEs will be different and greys are no mugs and will not offer discounts easily, plus AP will probably release these slowly enough to keep discounts minimal.

I think with the offshores i agree that u may be able to get a small discount but it’s nowhere near “suicidal”. For example i bought a brand new royal oak diver in black SS, from the boutique. After about a year i sold it to a dealer and lost 10%. I think the spread between the used/grey retail is really tightening with AP as they further tighten distribution and supply.

The royal oaks in SS, sometimes even trades at retail or abit above these days. AP prices are definiately going to tighten up even further.
