AP as my one and only

Last week when my brother came out to visit, I gave him my IWC as I have barely been wearing it since picking up my 15710 diver about one year ago.

He is very happy. And also so am I that the watch can be worn as opposed to sitting on a shelf.

This now puts me in an interesting position of just having the one watch (plus my Casio for sports) for all occasions.

Even after a year I still have much the same feelings as the first time I strapped it on each day and can’t feel that changing anytime soon.

At the moment I have one other watch in mind I would like to add - a Rolex exp1 which I would wear on rubber as I have become very appreciative of that as a strap material.

But each time I actually consider buying one, I think will I really wear it instead of my AP. The answer is always a no.

Until I try something else on which grabs me more than the diver, I can’t see myself ever wanting to upgrade or add. As of yet I haven’t found anything. Maybe when I get chance to see the new Ti42 I will find something.

In the meantime you will have to put up with more diver pics as this incredible machine isn’t going anywhere soon.

Same thing happened to me when I got my AP SS diver.

The comfort, look, history, ability to fly under the radar were all reasons I truly enjoyed wearing my AP over any other brand.

Be careful though...APs are addictive and can lead to MANY more APs.

My APD was my go to watch for a long time too, has so much going for it, except maybe the CE protection.

AP must be one of the most photogenic watch cases out there.

Yes next time I’m back in London I want to go take a look at the new 42s with ceramic bezel. Unfortunately I can’t quite carry off a 44 as that would otherwise open the door to plenty of other options.

It’s a very flexible piece - looks fantastic and is very comfortable to wear. It’s great to hear that you are enjoying it so much

If I didn’t wear a dress shirt m-f, I’d definitely consider a 15710 as a daily!

It will be a while until I go diving again, but it’s great knowing when the time comes it can handle it.

It can handle a suit when needed.
