For the Porsche fans..

This has been sitting in an independent leasing place not far from where I live for some time now. For those who don't know, it's Gemballa's (a German Porsche tuning company) take on the Carrera GT, known as the Mirage GT. This is an '05 model with 11k Kms on it. Totally caught me by surprise after stumbling upon it after breakfast one day about a year ago; never did I think I would see one in the wild!

It took some time, but went back just the other day as it was still sitting there. The owner told us it had finally been tentatively sold. Of course, it would most likely be leaving Canada, where I'm situated. Originally, I believe the whole package would lighten your wallet by about $1.5 million or more. However because of it's age, you can now have it for the low, low price of $600k.

Last I heard there were 15 of these officially modded by Gemballa, but I believe the cap was 25, so that number could have increased. The company went fairly silent since it's owner, Uwe Gemballa, was found shot dead in South Africa.

That is one of the best cars ever. Someone was actually able to better tune the Carrera GT!

Thanks for the replies guys, I agree it was quite the sight.

There was no shortage of eye-candy however; always this (among other things) if you prefer a more comfortable ride (and for a third of the price!)

Here's one that's more for the purists; same colour, but completely stock.

Just a minute or two from my place an hour ago. Now they're popping up all over! Top was off, all alone, no one around, at 11pm... Nice part of town, but I still wouldn't chance it!

Well, the Mirage has officially been sold, off for someone with very deep pockets to enjoy.

Since, it's been replaced by this old hunk'a junk.

My favorite P car by far. I was lucky enough to get the chance to drive one about a year ago. What an amazing machine
