Online/St. Louis Dealer

Hello. I am new to the forum and looking to buy my first Rolex. I have my sights set on a datejust with a silver linen dial, preferably ref. 16014 so it will have the quickset date feature. I live close to St. Louis…does anyone know of a reputable dealer in my area? I’ve been watching the big online second hand options such as Bob’s Watches and Chrono24. Are there any other sites you would recommend? I look at the classifieds on here but haven’t been able to figure out how to search. I appreciate any help!

have you tried Timekeepers in Clayton? Eddie, the owner is a very knowledgeable watch maker and curios collector. He's serviced lots of older pieces for me and always has a nice selection of gently used timepieces on display. Just don't try to pet his German Shepherd!

Sadly I believe his German Shepherd got killed during a break in a couple years back, IIRC. Was always nice to go in and see the dog laying there by the door- a little bonus to the vast assortment of vintage watches!

Simons you in Clayton and Clarkson Jewelers have always treated me well. I’d suggest either of those.

As for second hand sites, I would not recommend Chrono24 or Bobs Watches. Both of these sites you will overpay compared to market price plus it’s a buyers market right now. Also, your reference shouldn’t be too difficult to obtain from an authorized dealer.

Sorry still new to all this. Are you saying an AD could help source what I’m looking for or there is a good chance I can find my desired model at an AD? Thank you for the help.

Exact Time in Glen Carbon, IL (across river from STL) has some DJs for sale.
