I never liked meteorite dials until I saw the Pepsi GMT. Now I can’t take it off!

LOL, so I guess we shouldn't see any indices. Or hands either for that matter.

i’ve had mine (228206) since early march, right before the quarantine in the states. for the most part, it has been my daily since i was fortunate enough to add it to my modest collection.

it is entirely dependent, like an eastern bluebird’s plumage, on light. it changes and ripples and catches. at every angle, it provides a new vision. it is alive in a way nothing ive owned is. it’s beautiful in a deeply satisfying way that can’t be expressed over a photograph.

it can look almost mundane and boring in flat light. the vast majority of people have literally zero idea that under their nose is one of the most exquisite pieces ever created by the crown (***in my very humble estimation).

these three photos, taken on film by a good friend, express the almost timeless elegance of the dd40. i never saw myself as a daydate guy. boy was i wrong. it wears like an utter DREAM.

widmanstatten patterns are captivating at any level - hell, Zelos makes a killer meteorite watch - but on these pieces they just take on a different depth, revealing themselves only to their owner over time, no two alike.

it is an absurd expense. a huge cost. but we here are all after the same feeling, whether that is excited by the same machine or not, and this piece excites in me a feeling, nay, a suite of feelings, that can neither be written nor verbally expressed in full.

the meaning and story behind this particular watch add as much depth to my ownership of it as the dial has in slanting light. it is easily the most wonderful single thing i have the honor to own. cost became irrelevant to me when i first saw one. i had to own it. and some may never understand that.

those that get it, i salute you! those that don’t, by all means consider me a fool and yourselves fortunate. this thing sings a siren song i couldn’t resist any more than i can resist gravity.

my corgi disapproves of my long-winded nature, but this watch transcends “watch” for me, and i can only hope to express that in a tiny and bumbling way here.

meteorite dialed rolex watches are special. i am fortunate to own mine as are all those here who enjoy their charms.

i am still awaiting delivery of my 126719 meteorite GMT... will check in that day for sure.

all, and best to you and your families as we roll into autumn.

That ‘feeling’ is what I refer to as ‘ball tingle’!

If I had my choice of White Gold Pepsi with Meteorite dial and blue dial, I'd actually take the blue dial. I get the excitement about the 'collectible' excitement of the meteorite, but I lean towards the blue dial- it's just a little less busy.

The Meteorite dial is striking to look at. I love my 116519 Daytona, but it is very hard to tell time at night

I have numerous Daytona’s and all of them, with the exception of two, are difficult for me to see the time on at a quick glance. Yet I love them. I have always loved the Daytona (and watches like it before I even understood the difference in the manufacturer or different nuances of them). The one gripe I’ve had is the lack of a date function. but I’ve lived to overcome it. Full disclosure I’m 55 and my eyes are not what they once were. I recently obtained a meteorite GMT, from an AD so it was at sticker price not a grey, after two years of some serious Jason Bourne type moves. I can honestly report that I have no issues telling the time at a quick glance on the GMT meteorite. So anyone concerned about this issue should be comfortable that if you get the opportunity and have the means, get it. I have 24 Rolex watches in my collection. Since I received the GMT meteorite, I’ve not taken it off. I’m sure the novelty will eventually wear off and I’ll switch it up. But I absolutely love this watch. Love it!

This is one of the best photos I have seen of the most spectacular modern Rolex there is. I just love these dials. The DDs in Meteorite w Diamond markers for dress and the GMT M for sport. Absolutely stunning. I hope to be able to add them both to the collection. What a pair. Meteorite themed collection would rock.

Still my favourite watch will take a lot to knock this one off the top spot for me.
