Exactly. I live on the water in a tropical area, palm trees and 85F today. My house has exploded in value. If I sell it to move to a little nicer waterfront area down the road about 25 min I’ll need at least $8M to get what I have here (probably closer to $10M...almost zero inventory). Yes, my house is worth more. But you know what the property tax on an $8M house is...~$100K per year “rent” to live in a home you own. Forget insurance... (Luckily my current home tax is homesteaded and can’t go up by more than 3% per year...but over the last 2 years my insurance has increased by ~ $12K per year.)

At least with watches, you can sell one (maybe one)

But seriously, I keep trying to sell something but can never bring myself to do it even with the crazy price being offered.

^^^ sooooo this, and sounds like one of our homes. As much as they have approved doubling the planned community size, being #1 in USA has not held back big price increases. We're staying put as 3% a year @ years ago works well for my timepiece habit.
