The 44 goes to NYC

First trip with the AP and having an absolute blast. Came out for the art auctions but of course fantastic food, friends and drinks makes it perfect. A bit surreal watching the Da Vinci go for $450M to be honest.

Anyway....Been wearing it all day every day, gym aside, and it's been a pleasure. The more I wear it the more I love it. Hit the flagship Rolex store on 5th to try on my up and coming contenders so threw a few pics of those in a as well. They had the plastic on so didn't photograph as well as they should.

Sounds like a great trip. I usually take my RG on trips too, just don't wear it on the plane. Ive had enough seatbelt dings on my other watches to make me nervous.

My wife did that to my ROO panda dial by unbuckling her seatbelt and carelessly flicking the heavy end in my direction, it chipped the glass. I didn’t realise this happened to other people too on planes.

99% of the marks on my watches are from planes. I have no idea why, but its brutal on them

Ugh...airplane seatbelts!

It’s a trade off for me - wear my watch on the plane and risk dings, or risk my bag being rifled and losing it (Having invalidated the insurance as it wasn’t on my wrist or in a safe)

Looks amazing! With the username Gravity, I would expect nothing short of a great, hefty watch and food. My SO caught me staring at your pictures and she found the shot with the pizza entertaining. Have a great time!

The RG is such a stunning piece! Glad that you enjoyed giving it a run in NYC

I actually wear a tracksuit jacket on flights generally and have the sleeve cuff covering the watch face which is simply pulled back if needed. But I can see how a high velocity belt buckle could be hazardous.
