Heuer Carrera 1964 Re-edition

I got into vintage Heuer chronographs lately. I think with JCB at the helm, we will probably see a lot more vintage re-editions which is good for the company. Heuer has a substantial history in motorsports and would be nice for us to be able to enjoy some of those vintage new pieces.

I started with a 70's Autavia 1163 viceroy, followed by Monaco Caliber 11 (modern edition of the Steve McQueen Monaco) and now this 1964 Carrera Re-edition. It is only 36MM (shown here on my 7.25" wrist) but it is so classy and sporty at the same time. The movement (legendary Lemania 1873) is not too shabby either. Oh I couldn't decide between the all black dial, black dial with silver rings, or silver dial so I am buying all 3. This is the first to arrive. Needless to say, I am super happy.

The only downside is you can't go swimming with these, otherwise they are good for dressing up and down. Super comfy too. Prices are still reasonable too. Just not easy to find.

I always wanted a Targa Florio, but never pulled the trigger.

I am so in love with this watch. It is smallish by today's standards but it's just so elegant and sporty and comfortable on the wrist. When this watch was re-issued in 1996, I had just graduated university and could not afford the $2500 list price back then. I can't wait for the all black and silver dialed ones to arrive.

Here's the silver dial version. Love love this watch. Pictures don't show the dial well. It is actually a silvery pearly white. Beautiful blue accented numbers in the outer ring.

Added slate blue vintage rally strap on the silver dial. Brings out the blue numbers.

I've had the all black one for about 10 years now. Great watch. Never had an issue with it. Congrats. I love the pearl dial one.

Beautiful watches and I'm fond of the smaller size watches, too.

Cool watch! I had the opportunity to pick one up several months ago...the asking price was a bit high and I just struggle with 36mm.
