I appreciate my watch and it is cared for like all my other precious posessions....meaning...
things that are important to me.

I know... to each his own..... BUT sorry....your watch deserves more respect from you.

Dude, it’s a watch that’s in his possession.

Microwaved some water in a bowl until it was hot but I could still touch it. Little bit of dish soap and a tooth brush. Let it soak, brushed it, let it soak some more about 15 minutes total.

Water was dirty with many little gross bits sunk to the bottom.

Watch looks shinier and articulates better now.

I can't really tell a difference from photos or naked eye. But with a loupe, I can see the grime has been removed from the links and edges and grooves. It has also highlighted the scratches a bit. Oh well!
That's one way to do it or just take a shower...and use this on it.

I like this on steel watches but on yellow gold I find jewelry cleaner or Dawn works better.

To the people who clean their watches often. What do you do with a watch that’s not waterproof?

I used to wear mine in the shower to wash it, but the build-up of soap scale in the clasp was almost as gross as the DNA gunk.

You learn something new everyday. I have literally never washed or cleaned my watches. They look perfectly normal to me.

I wash the watches once a month. It’s a relaxing experience.

i just use dawn on mine once every few weeks or so, especially when i'm ready to switch it out for something else in the box. dawn and tepid water, then pat dry with a microfiber cloth. you folks that shower with your watches on, crack me up lol.

Personally, I would never buy or wear a watch that didn't have sufficient water resistance to survive a thorough cleaning. My watch gets dirty with life. When I get home and wash my hands, I like to wash my hands and the watch with Dawn. If the watch cannot survive that, then to me it's not a very good watch. (I'm the same way with expensive clothes that can't survive a washing machine.)

one day, one year,

it might depend on your transpiration and use environment

i never use water, i clean and lubricate my watches with thin oil for sewing machines, help with a brush, then compressed air and finally paper towels

it works for me
