Tom Carroll wore a Submariner Date while surfing for a period of time. I wonder if he lost it during a wipe out.

Can you stop posting non-Rolex stuff in the Rolex General Discussion section please. This must be the third one I have moved today/yesterday, and it gets tiresome. Post in open discussion.

I’ll tell you how. From the shore with a freshly cut platter of fruit.

I used to surf regularly but I’d still never try to surf that.

A mans got to know his limitations.

I stood out there on a calm day when the surf was just small swells. The bottom is gnarly. You’d get ground up into fish food on that.

Yeah, the bottom is jagged lava rock and the waves are breaking right over it so if you wipe out your body is getting dragged over that rock. The solution is don't wipe out. I was never good enough to feel that I could surf a wave like that and not eat it. I could spend hours surfing the beach breaks here in SoCal, it is great fun, but surfing over that? No way.

i lived in hawaii from 1993 through 1997. i was younger (under 13) at the time but i did surf sunset point right next door which is a much more manageable wave.

my favorite wave was a rare one, bellows point. the ride was nearly 1/4th a mile if you caught the right wave. only military could ever surf that wave though.

bonzai pipeline is a crazy wave. the life guards would actually take bets on what white guy who challenged it would need to be rescued. it is the razor sharp reef under neath that got my dad on the arm. he still has the scar.
