AP straps question

Starting to look into the ROO chronos, will be my first AP. I'm wondering what different experiences have been on buying additional straps. My thinking was to get the watch on the hornback and then get a rubber strap to go along with it. Would like to stay OEM if possible.

I've searched some threads and it looks like a recommendation was to go through the APSC instead of an AD because of the markup. How do you go about doing that logistically with the SC? Any feedback one way or the other? Thanks everybody.

Pretty easy. Email APSC, tell them which straps you're interested in. You'll send them some info about your watch, including pictures of the movement showing serial numbers. You pay them and the straps show up at your house.

For the ROO Chrono, if you decide to go rubber, I'd highly recommend you go for the diver strap and not the regular chrono strap. However, the buckles are different, so you'd have to spend some extra cash to get that set up. But I like the width of the diver strap much much more than the regular ROO Chrono straps.

Just my opinion.
This was my ROO on Gray Diver strap. I miss it :(

As above mentioned, email them and they will work with you to find your desired strap if you don't have the strap product code already. Make payment and they ship it over. From my experience it couldn't have been more painless and strap was shipped to me overnight (US).

However, Since receiving the strap, I had not yet figured out how/attempted to change the strap myself yet but that should be taking place sometime soon once I get home to the strap and acquire all necessary tools.

Is there a catalog online or some resource that lists all available straps for each model? When I was in the Boutique, their answer was vague. Seemed like a physical catalog existed *somewhere*

Keen to hear if anybody has any information about this.

There is a catalog, AD I did business with before had sent me one. They are no longer an AD I believe. One I have is dated but happy to share if anyone would like to see it.

There is a catalogue, I saw it at an ADs, but they were charging £300 for a rubber strap while APSC were charging £220. Email APSC and they should send you a PDF of it.

Awesome feedback, thanks. Not surprising that it's a fairly straightforward process and that AP will work with you on getting what you want given their positive reputation for service experiences.

AP in Paris charges €280 for a rubber strap for my safari, one with the 24mm buckle. Bought one last week. £300 sounds like a very high price ?!?

Neil was stating that some AD’s charge a mark up when ordering via them, so best to buy direct.

Yes there is an AP service centre/lounge in the UK and you can contact them directly and they will send over the available options for you to order.

I had Very Disappointing experience with AP leather straps..2 sets of new leather straps split at the lugs..within 2months of light usage..
Brought the 1st pair new from boutique, the straps split within 3weeks, AP SC kindly replace me a new set and the same problem happen again!!
These straps are just not beefy enough at the lug areas..

What is the SC in APSC? I am looking for a blue hornback to go with my Navy ROO and the AD here in Greenwich is asking $603 and $694 for the deployment buckle which is apparently required.

Ironically the CW quote was identical to my AD. Going through the AD since they can install it for me and i don't want to mess it up.

Did you get the strap and deployment clasp? I have this same set up sans deployment clasp so have to switch the tang buckle too when I switch straps. The leather strap doesn't fit as well for me so thinking about going with the clasp.
