Sopranos, Breaking Bad, and Sons of Anarchy. Deadwood would have been on the list if HBO would have let David Milch finish it.

Someone also mentioned Deadwood - great too

Hill street blues - brilliant

Breaking Bad - I started watching after the last series finished. Listened to all the hype first. Honestly thought it started too slow, lost its way a bit in middle - finished strong. Overall - disappointing

I can't believe some network or cable channel hasn't continued the Deadwood story. It was a great series. HBO just cut off production after three years.

there are some good shows here, and most are the usual suspects you would expect. IMO "Line of Duty" , a british police drama is one of the best. Amazing show.

Better than The Wire for sure, and that is one of the best as far as cop shows go.

There were attempted updates in the 90's but they lacked the clumsy charm of the original.

Best TV Show Ever

I agree and like many listed!

One to add to the list is LOST! What a great series.

I liked The Muppet Show when I was a kid but never appreciated the messages, humor, and writing that went into that show until I was an adult. No wonder my parents watched it, too. Jim Henson was a genius.

The show is only in its first season, but I am enjoying "Mayans MC" on FX. It was created by Kurt Sutter, who also did "Sons of Anarchy." One of my favorite actors, Ray McKinnon, is reprising his roll from SOA in Mayans. He was also in "Deadwood." Every character he creates is unique and memorable.
