I admire the complication for its innovation. It has the cool factor for sure. I played with it twice when owned the watch. Once to make sure it was functioning correctly when I first got the watch. Another time explaining how it worked to a friend, a non-wis btw who loves boats, and stared blankly at me after I demonstrate the function lol.

That conversation was prefaced with a brief explanation of why the watch cost so much.

Forgot to mention also that, again, while I think it’s a cool watch that looks fantastic, compared to the sky dweller functions and complications, it’s pretty lackluster, especially considering it’s priced thousands more.

I really enjoy mine! Most WIS don't even realize it's a flyback chrono.

Just put mine on a RubberB to switch it up a little bit.

I like them but I prefer the YM I over it.

Before i got the Rolex bug all I had was Breitling's. I loved them, but when I moved to Rolex, a major factor was that I liked the less busy dial. The YMII looks stunning, but a little too busy.

I'll get hell for this one, but I feel the YMII and Daytona's are a little too busy for my taste. But then again, I never owned one and tastes can change!

Thank you
The reason the price is so high is due to the complication of the movement.

I suspect that when the maintenance for this watch comes due, you're looking at a repair bill over $1000.

Anything over 40 mm isn't quite my thing. Never been a fan of the YMII, but to each their own.

I own and love a 16622 , that said the YM II is the ugliest sport watch ever created by Rolex

PS Got the first version a few years ago then added the newer version recently and prefer it. The watch is cleaner without the blue surrounds and the new hands cleaner as well and more "Rolex" being Mercedes style. Both nice but the new for this one just works perfectly IMHO.
Oh,,,, stunning!!!!

This is the blue that should be on the GMT insert.

I don'y know if the blue hands will make it more of a collectable piece in the future!!!!

Which Rubber B did you order. Their website doesn’t list one for the YMII other than the one that uses your bracelet clasp

-Movement: Yes...a lot of people are going to say the regatta function is useless. However, it's based on the rock solid 4130 movement of the Daytona, which is one of, if not the best chronograph movements out there. Amazing accuracy and power reserve of 72 hours, plus the ability to time your steaks on the grill. And...how many Daytona owners use the tachymeter scale on the bezel?

Cons:

-I never could get the bracelet to fit quite right, and tried every combination known to man, b/c I liked the watch so much. I even bought a 1/2 link and tried that, and was still between sizes. So, I'm going to say it really needs a glide lock clasp, IMO. Especially in the PM versions. It would help balance the enormous head and make getting the perfect fit (which is so important to a watch of this size) actually achievable.

-New hands. When all the brainchilds of Rolex had a chance to tweak this watch to make it something really special, they decided to make a cosmetic change with changing the hands, which really don't work, IMO. As opposed to adding a glide lock clasp, which would have a home run.

Just my two cents.
Great summary, I would add they are actually buyable from ADs which is the biggest plus in this day and age.

That is the one I ordered. It's the only choice for the YMII.

I love watches that POP! Ym2 definitely stands out. I agree that it’s a more casual looking watch. I couldn’t see it with a suit? Your idea to buy 2 has merit. Buy a sub & a Milgauss. You’ll have an everyday watch & special occasions watch.

Nice watch, makes its presence felt, but between dial & bezel a bit too busy, making it hard to tell time. IMO

I love it. Colors, size, and the complications are cool af.

But I’d rather spend on a Daytona or GMT.
