Sending a 1991 14060 to RSC for service
I bought a 1991 14060 private party and love the watch. Unfortunately, it has stopped working correctly (despite winding and a light shake, it'll stop every 30 seconds or so and won't continue). I've priced out independents and they're $500 +\-. RSC wants $700 plus parts. Given the warranty and resale bump by having an RSC service I believe I would rather go that route. I've heard horror stories of vintage dials being replaced, etc so do I write on notes "dial and bezel not to be replaced"? It also has what appear to be original unpolished lugs so I don't want to ruin them (it won't need much in the way of polishing as it has no significant dings). This is my first watch to send to them and I'd like a little input on the process.

They won’t replace the dial& hands without your permission, because you have to pay for those parts separately.make sure you tell them not to polish your watch, and or the bracelet.

I am in the opposite camp. Let the RSC polish it. You'll get back a brand new very sharp looking watch

Ummm, why not take it in and ask for a service quote then choose the work you want done.
