Cyclops Size on GMT Series

Hi guys, was out with a bunch of friends the other day, and we all laid out our watches on the table.

I noticed the date on my TT is much smaller than my friend's BLNR from the pic attached. My watch is dated 2015, while his is 2017. Anybody know the reason behind this? Did Rolex update the cyclops after 2015 or something? Thanks.

Looks like you got one of the bad cyclops that does not magnify the right amount. A common issue.

This was an issue for a while a couple of years ago. Seems it was a bad batch. Owners with a lo-mag cyclops were showing up here seemingly every week, and many got them replaced under warranty. A couple of brand new owners even got replacement watches, as I recall. Rolex removed the x2.5 mag claim from its website around the same time; there was no recall or official notice.

Low mag is a common issue around that time you bought yours in 2015. Havent heard of many recently but take it to RSC they will fix it.

Actually, the TT (mine) is the correct time. After looking at the photo, I pointed that out too, that the other two were fast, coincidentally, my friends both said they set their watch 5 mins fast.

That aside, RSC will replace my cyclops? Ok will give them a call, thanks a lot guys.

Update: Just called them, they asked me to bring it over for a check.
