Couple hundred dollars maybe. Thousands of dollars hell no. That’s why I don’t lust after the latest and greatest model. Plenty of other great Rolexss to choose from.

No. Rolex SA is not suggesting, they are telling the Authorized Dealer the price. Not everything is literal.

Of course!

If it's a model I'm really jones'n for and there are no other options, yes.

That mark up represents the true market value of the watch - not some Rolex MSRP, which means less and less these days.

This perspective is fine with me, as long as people also don't expect a discount from an AD. But you can't expect them to be flexible on price one way and not another.

I'd personally have no problem paying more for a watch if I really wanted it, since I've also expected to pay less than MSRP when the watch wasn't that popular.

So they AD is basically admitting they have all these models sitting in their safe and available for sale. Haggle hard and see what happens. They still have a business to run, bills to pay and can't hoard these watches forever.

Only if this is your forever watch and you will leave the forum and all temptation and never buy another watch.

He mentioned all available for order with delivery in 2 days. The prices he gave me are similar to TRF seller markups currently.

For e.g. for the Ceramic daytona and Blue SS Sky-D, he is asking approx $18.9K each. The warranty card would be in my name and dated on date of sale. He is asking $10.6K for the BLNR.

So my question to you all is - would you do it? I am torn, I want one of each of the white dial daytona and the blue sky-d but i can't get myself to pay over MSRP for a mass produced product.

Apparently they have the watch in Stock. An AD in India suggested the same. If he takes entire payment through check/credit card take it. Most probably he won't accept payment like that. Theey are doing a markup and will ask you to pay cash for the difference. That's the Indian way.

If your bill says the the markup price. Email or call Rolex and their AD will lose Rolex dealership.

They are cheeky and smart. They know the value of the watch. Just don't wanna sell.

I don't think so. I've never been THAT crazy about any watch.

How would you feel if in 2 or 3 years, the popularity and price dropped precipitously? If that wouldn't bother you, I'd say go ahead.

Here in US, manufacturers can’t control vertical pricing. So he was right about what it actually means.

The AD, of course, can stick to MSRP as it suits them on the models in great demand - and then discount the slow/old inventory as they choose.

I'm no rollie expert like most here, but I think Rolex ad's are not supposed to alter msrp price in any fashion and I think they have revoked hundreds of licensed dealers globally over the last five years for various reasons..
Just purchased a blnr monday and they took off all the stickers before I took possession.

No way in hell.

I'd buy a Tudor first.

Well, on second thought--skip the Tudor.

AD based in India - not Indiana ( I am currently visiting India ). He had the usual selection of Dj and PM models but had only 2 SS in stock (the yacht master and the Milgauss).

Non-western nation AD’s consistently sell SS models over MSRP. This is not the only AD to do that - I had similar experience in Egypt and in Singapore.

Not a chance..but then again I just truly don’t get the allure of the Daytona and probably never will, actually I definitely never will..and sure as hell don’t understand paying damn near $20k for a $12k watch...that’s one expensive ceramic bezel!! Let’s be honest here...that’s really the only difference

While I imagine that Rolex would prefer their watches be sold at MSRP, I don’t recall seeing confirmation of an AD having their status revoked.

We share a similar background, so I’ll use a phrase that will be familiar; “you’re assuming facts not in evidence”.
