Headphones...

Just picked these up to use with my iPhone X. For the last 3 years I’ve been using the Bose QC 25’s. No issues until now, the ear cushions are tearing but that’s expected with 2-4 hours daily use. New cushions ordered so I’ll be handing them down to Mum. I was very tempted to go for the Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 but somehow decided to stick with Bose. My taste in music is quite varied, I can go from Hip Hop to Hans Simmer in a heartbeat!

What do you use?

Have a good week TRF.

The missus gave me some higher end (for) Sony NC headphones. They are pretty good on the iPhone. I think better than the Shure's they replaced.

I’ve been using the QC35s for a while now and I really like them. I’ve had some higher end headphones and the Bose may not be as good in the sound department, but they’re really comfortable. I can wear them for 6+ hours straight with no issues. That is a huge plus for me. The NC is also very good.

I also have a pair of AirPods that I use for work.

I've found BT headphones sound better on the iPhone than wired ones. Makes sense I guess.

for at home and longer trips my B&W P9 signature headphones are by far my favorite. They are large though, so i will take B&O H9's when i need to be a bit more portable.

I really only wear over ear headphones and not in ear or on ear.

Thinking about selling them and picking up something over ear though, I've come to realize that on ears maybe aren’t my thing. These are by far the nicest looking headphones I’ve ever seen though, incredible detail. @Tyler, how do you like your Bowers? Was actually thinking about the PX model, and ditching cords too.

Bose noise canceling and fit are worth the price, absolute godsend on a plane.

Cheers fellas... I’ve had them on for a few hours and I’m satisfied. The posh side of my family think otherwise but that was expected.

i prefer corded. On a mobile divice generally the difference isnt as big, but on a computer or a home system you lose a lot in the bluetooth vs a cord.

B&W P9 is really the only model i have spend any amount of time with but i have heard good things about the PX.

I invested in some JH Audio custom in ear monitors a couple years ago. They’re expensive but nothing else compares.

I have Bose QC3’s from 2007, they sound just as good now as they did when I bought them! The ear cushions are becoming abit worse for wear but nonetheless they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon!!!

Hifiman HE-400i here. High end planar magnetic sound for the masses, at just under $200 now. These are open back so no good for travel, but great at a desk.

Wired ones, I have the senheiser momentum 2 over ears. Bluetooth, I use a pair of bragi dash pro. And for running and the gym I have a pair of plantronics backbeat fit. They have been serving me well over the years without issues and with a sound quality that is very satisfactory. The bragi dash pros are the latest addition and have been used for less than a year and so far they live up to their claim for listening time usage. Decent sound isolation and good Bluetooth connectivity.

From 2007?! Wow. You either don’t use them enough or do and take good care of them!

I've been through all of the high end headphones bluetooth/analog combo wise..

Definitive Technology Symphony 1's are pretty amazing especially for the money on amazon now

Haha Dee!

I use them probably between 8-10 times a year mostly on flights, however the ear pieces are wearing but the sound quality is second to none. From 07-09 I used them everyday of the week whilst travelling to uni and back!

Gave up on headphones many years ago. Best FOR ME is custom in-ear monitors. Once you wear custom-made units you'll truly enjoy their fit, sound quality, and of course very high isolation from outside noise. Below are Noble K10 in Italian rose gold 'Tiger Stripe'. Also have HUM, JH Audio Roxanne, 64Audio A12, and other CIEMs.

Bump.

Sold my Aedles as they were uncomfortable for long periods. I did indeed get the Bowers PX wireless and they're absolutely fantastic IMO. Definitely suggest taking a look, for anybody considering stuff like the Sony WH1000XM2 or the Bose QC35's. These also fit into my aesthetic requirements, as I hate how most headphones look like they're for gamers and not a modern professional. Also, they charge with USB-C which is a huge plus IMO as so many devices pushing towards this.
