All about personal feel, I like blades...Wilson 8802,Rife Bimini,Cameron Napa,Odyssey 9. Always had great luck with the odyssey 2 ball on the mallet side. I love Cameron’s but the new insert based putters don’t work well for me however that’s not to say you won’t love them. I’ve putt with everything but older Cameron’s and Wilson’s are my personal favorite.
Hit up your local golf shop or club and if they have some demo products roll 5 with 5 diff styles and narrow in on what you like best. All personal preference. |

I'd have some putting lessons first try and get some fundamentals down first, correct your setup, suspect you are too far away from the ball most have their eyes over it.

Narrowed down to 2
I have it narrowed down to 2! Scotty Newport 2 and ping vault 2.0...both in 33 inch..
The kicker is I haven’t been able to try the vault 2.0 (no place has it), but I’ve tried other high end pings. My thing is the ping is 100 bucks cheaper, but the Scotty holds it value a lot more. I think I am going to just get the Scotty, but before I do does anyone have the vault? |

IMO putting is all confidence and stroke. You can drain putts with mini golf putter that is the completely wrong length. But it doesn't hurt that have one that feels good in your hands and is visually appealing. For me that's the Odyssey 2 Ball, I feel like I can line every putt up better with it. I've used Cameron's, Ping's, other Odyssey's, Bulls Eye's but I've always been most consistent with the 2 Ball.

Went with the Scotty Newport Select!
Kept trying to like the ping more because of price, but it came down to the long outs where I was way more consistent with the SC. |

depends on your putting stance, beer quotient, weather and stroke style. and putting is about confidence more than anything.
i'm a feel putter, so as long as its working, i keep the putter in the bag - from a $5 one from a bankrupt miniput and an older $450 fitted SC Futura with several in between... i also play for the 2 putt. it causes less tension and you'll start draining more when you're looking at the hole as being 3x the size. just have fun and don't take too long lining up and that stuff. you're a 23hc and clearly an honest golfer, so you'll always get better. Get a lesson or two. Even if it's just a quick 5 or 10 mins with a manufacturer rep out on the putting green. There's a whole host of factors that could make it difficult for you to be good with any sort of putter in your hand:
1) reading the greens 2) not lining up the putt correctly (figure out which is your dominant eye, for example) 3) stroke mechanics 4) grip Notice how the first 3 have nothing to do with equipment? Get those 3 squared away, and figuring out the right putter becomes a lot easier and a lot more rewarding.

Echoing others, a putter is very personal and really the most important factor is what gives you confidence, particularly inside 10 feet. The first key is to practice a stroke until it is repeatable. Then find a putter that suits your eye. If one putter or style was objectively better than others, every tour pro would use it.
I used a blade style (newport 2, odyssey #2) for the past 15 years or so and just switched to the Spider Tour S and love it so far.

The Scotty will not make you a better putter but as far as craftsmanship goes, they are top notch. If you are gonna 3-putt might as well do it in style!

A BB1 and the Queen Bee. Bettinardi makes the highest quality putters I've ever hit and I have hit them all. Materials and Craftsmanship are better than anything else out there, including Scotty Cameron, Odyssey, and Ping, all of which I also own. Love them both, but wouldn't recommend any putter to anyone. Way too personal. I would recommend, however, lessons! |

Btw the 23 handicap is a legit 23...I count every stroke and don’t get breakfast balls or mulligans. It’s funny how I play with 15s and they are obviously 20+

LOVE IT!!
I had to send a BB1 back to Bettinardi years ago after my putter got bent after somehow being launched into a tree. I have no idea how that happened! Anyhoo, I called the factory to check on the progress of my fix and BOB himself answers the phone and helps me out. He couldn't find the putter. Fed-Ex'd me out a brand new putter that very day. Customer for life here. |
