Going to a Concert

Hi,

Off to see the excellent Foo Fighters tonight but debating what watch to wear, will probably wear my OP definitely not my sub.

What watch would you wear bearing in mind stuck in the middle of 50k people jumping around.

Strangely enough, we went to see Beyonce and Jay-Z on Saturday and I was complimented on my sub c no date by a stranger for the first time ever! Think it was during 99 Problems.....

From experience I'd wear a G shock. Whatever you wear is likely to get a bit of a battering (assuming you'll be fully immersed in the experience of the gig)

As fanatical as it may sound I would not wear any automatic watch to a loud concert or active sporting events. G shock as mentioned above.

I'd focus my energy on enjoying the concert and not worrying which watch to wear. Likely nobody else there will care either.

Cannot understand what difference any watch would make watching a concert.

Wear the Sub and time the songs

I love Dave Grohl’s music, and hope to see him perform some time soon. Have a blast

It depends upon the venue. If it’s an outdoor concert in the summer with 50,000 people, I probably wouldn’t wear a Rolex.

Let’s just say it’s not the most appropriate situation for a £6,000 wrist ornament, unless you’re not fully participating

i wore my patek 5164 to pearl jam last night.... tonight's show got canceled but it was going to be the AP 15400 for that one. TBH my wife's due date is in a week and a half, so i was more worried about that than some watch

Awful pic, but it’s proof . I saw several Rolex's and a Big Pilot there.

In fairness, you’re in the safe seats Tyler

I do love me some Foo and Pearl Jam, but would be inclined to leave the nice pieces at home. At Little Big Town, freaking pop country, some drunk dude behind me reached out and grabbed my wrist right over my sub while yelling at the little girls next to me to sit down. Boiling through me was the thought that if he breaks a pin or scratches it, I will be forced to tap dance on his face.

Foo Fighters is a good show. That said, in seats I wouldn't really care what I had on my wrist. That said, i've done GA at Croke Park, Dublin for U2 where the pitch was packed and lots of drunken revelers getting very close to one another. If beer being spilled on your timepiece (or your person) bugs you, make your choice accordingly :)

It wouldn't be advisable to wear a high end watch to such a crowded place except it's a sit down gig and we all know how these concerts can be.

Padi, Ive missed you. Questions like this are probably why you took a hiatus. I think I’m due for one as well. Glad to have you back!! Oh btw, is it ok to wash my hands with my Daytona on???
