Willard on mesh...

SPB237-
Just got this, and love the look of it, but not sure the Seichu fabric strap it comes with is for me. They are lovely straps, from a traditional braiding technique from Japan. I have been curious about mesh type straps and had this one laying around. It looks good to me, different and is very comfortable...

I'm sure you know this... this one is unique in that Seiko did the faux patina thing, unusual for them. I love the look of it. It's a good watch, and I'd say good value too. The short time I've had it, it runs very accurately and ran a long time off the wrist. The Willard thing is real cool too, like a cult in the watch world. This one is a little smaller, glad I chose it over the green, which is also nice. There are different Willard models out there, I guess it's a matter of taste... and budget. Good luck with your purchase, hope you love it, I think you will. Nothing wrong with it! I think loads of cool in this one...

Thanks for the rundown. I love all the small details in it that make it unique, colour, patina, size. It’s also got the 6R movement in it as well if I am not mistaken. Super excited to get my hands on it.

it really is! Every online review is super!!! And re the movement, it is running fantastic w accuracy and power reserve... I think it is 70 hours!!! It's priced right too... it's not cheap and not obscenely expensive, and with Seiko, you do indeed get what you pay for- well for the most part lol Don't ask about the bezel though lol It is slightly off, and that upsets me a little, but that is unfortunately a part of Seiko. It is not a cheap watch, I'd expect the bezel to line up perfectly. It doesn't bother me though...

I have, but it was another Seiko mod that was sneaking out from under the cuff at that gig.

I followed the story on TalkBass. During assembly the bridge plates were just grabbed out of a box so the serial numbers are not sequential. If I remember correctly that bass dated to 1955.

The oldest known existing Fender Precision bass, thought to be possibly be 1 of up to 4 prototypes, dates to Sept 51, with a serial # of 0017. Official production of the P bass started in Nov 51.
