GMT Master Vintage

I am interested with this watch:
http://passions.com.sg/Rolex_Vintage/4259-GMT.htm
especially if it is really made by Rolex for Oman. Can someone confirm the story? Is the price realistic?
Thanks in advance.

It looks genuine, but always buy the seller more than the product. I know Rolex has done special orders for mid-east military/sheiks with heraldry on the dials. I'd ask for complete lineage, papers and maybe look at the Oman Air Force web page (assuming they have one) to either email or research that way.

With no papers, there's no way you will be able to substantiate their claim. And at that price, it smells like rip-off. I woudn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

BTW, welcome to TRF.

Good points Ed. I was more concerned with the watch itself.

Welcome to TRF Fikko.

There is a tradition in the Gulf of gift giving and for some reason Rolex watches seem to be one of the preferred gifts, there is a special department at the Geneva HQ that provides these specially designed watches. Most of them have unique dials where all of the text below the centre hole is deleted and the insignia of the sovereign or the country is then printed in this space. These watches command now very high prices the watch looks genuine, and the price well its only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Welcome to TRF fikko, I'm located in the Gulf (Persian, Arabian, Iranian whatever). Some of our guys have worked in Oman with the Omani Air force, if I hear of any of these watches I'll let you know. I have seen similar watches for sale in the local market but I just don't have enough trust in them to buy anything.

Welcome to TRF Fikko! As for the watch it looks kind of pricey, but I'm not really an expert on this.
