2016 Annual Pittsburgh GTG ! June 10-12th

Good day everyone !

I figured it's that time of year again for another Pittsburgh meet !

Starts on Friday June 10th, and ends on Sunday, the 12th. Some people are driving far distances ( like myself from CT, and Dougy from MI ) and are staying at a hotel and will be arriving on Thursday afternoon / evening. The hotel we are all staying at is the Red Roof Inn, 2729 Mosside Blvd, Monroeville, PA.

We have meets there every year since 2012 and they are always a blast.

Our meets generally consist of strolling around downtown Pitt, going to several AD's, drinking, walking, visiting more AD's, drinking some more, repeat the next day. Lol

So, who else is in !?

I'm out'a the loop, Mark.

I gotta kid moving to Columbus, for a residency program, and waiting and wondering IF this move is going to interfere with this GTG

I have some trips planned this summer but if I'm in town I'd love to join. Would be my first GTG

What is the plan Saturday evening and Sunday? I am unavailable during the day on Friday or Saturday but would love to get with everyone when I can. Maybe y'all will run into me when you go AD hopping....

Glad to see some members going !!!

Tim - Don't worry, there will always be other GTG's !!

I want to have one in my neck of the woods in CT later in the year. Mohegan Sun has a great venue, plus they have an AD in the casino as well. Fall meet perhaps ? lol

Looking forward to catching up with everyone for breakfast at Kings Restaurant on Saturday morning.
Where will we be going after breakfast?
Is dinner planned for the Monroeville area on Saturday evening?

In October, Casa d'oro has an event when vendors are present. Good time to go, as the vendors usually bring few interesting pieces. Good time for another quick gathering.

Not sure yet to be honest. I know there will eventually be a "plan" but as of now, Doc has not gotten back to me for a set in stone itinerary.

Pretty sure it will follow the past years GTG's. As soon as I get something sold, I'll report back here !

I'm making the drive across PA this weekend - shame it couldn't coincide with the GTG! I'm staying in downtown Pittsburgh with the wife. Any watch sites to see? The only thing on my radar lately is the Royal Oak, but could be fun to see some other watches.

Ok everyone, here is the rough draft of the itinerary that I came up with. This is about what we usually do during our Pittsburgh GTG's. Keep in mind, this is just a rough draft, not a finalized set in stone itinerary yet lol

Thursday-
Everyone ( or most ) arrives at Red Roof hotel mid afternoon / evening.
Meet at Max + Ermas for drinkypoos + first gathering @ say 6PM ?

Friday -
Breakfast at Pamelas
Visit Henne AD, Orrs, etc. ( AKA Shadyside venture )
Dinner at NOLAS

Saturday -
Breakfast at Kings @ 9AM. Meeting up with Craig, and also Mark Theken's arrival.
Head downtown Pitt to see Yuri, etc.
Dinner @ _______ ?

Sunday -
Departure day.
Final breakfast at Kings @ say 9AM ?

One of the places I'd love to stop at is a place Craig took me to a few years ago in his neighborhood that had the BEST coleslaw I have ever tasted in my life.
I know there's other places that we usually visit that I've probably missed, but I'm sure everything will fall into place.

The World's Best Fish Sandwich is at Keith Heinritz Katering in, wait for it, Trafford!

If you care to have another (SIR! MAY I HAVE ANOTHER?! : ), I would really enjoy visiting Keith's on Thursday, Mike and anyone else!

Let me know!

Saturday morning seems a "go" at King's and NOLA'S perked up Debbie's ears!

All day Friday, though, might be tough for me : (

Hey Craig !!

Thursday sounds great ! We'd be leaving CT and probably arrive at the hotel around 2:30 3:00ish, ahead of most I'd guess. So I'd have most of the later afternoon ( well before the Max + Erams ) to head there ! I'll shoot you a text when we get to the hotel.

Looks like I will catch up with all of you on Friday at Pamelas (I assume the one in Shadyside since there are multiple locations around the city). Or at worse, at Henne depending upon the time/traffic. Pittsburgh has tunnels that are not very passible before around 9 am with the traffic. You will see this coming in from Monroeville if you are meeting early. No matter, I will be there. BTW the other Orrs location in Sewickly has a good Patek and Lange selection too if any of you are so inclined. Their Shadyside/Squirrel Hill store has the better selection of everything else.

I "kids" are leaving for Ohio This weekend, Mike.

It'll be up-in-the-air, until Deb makes final plans for seeing them off.
