Hope you read this regarding leaving your valuables in a bank safe:

I keep mine in a personal bolted down to cement ballistic metal safe.

thanks for the link

But I guess it's only a problem in the US ? In Europe or at least the country I live it banks are responsible for whatever you put in your safe.
IF there would be a problem you'll have to prove what was inside but that's easy with the pictures and receipts I have
I believe every safe is insured for a few million so no issue here

The problem with that method is a home invasion, they put a gun you your head and say open it. Nothing is 100% safe.

Exactly!

That's why proper insurance is invaluable in my book.

Congrats Bruno! I must admit that your collection is a big disappointment. Where the hell is the 5131G?

bank vaults in austria are insured to the value of 4500 euros !!!!!! still, it is much safer there than in my home vault, as mentioned here home invasion is the main issue.

I'm feeling dejavu because this came up about a month ago, but the right home safe will have an emergency code in the gun-to-head scenario. The safe still opens, but police are dispatched. Assuming you don't live in the middle of nowhere, the burglars won't get far with your stuff. In the normal burglary scenario when you're not home (they don't want you to be there), the right safe would take hours to open and your home alarm should have been triggered the moment they get inside. Insurance is the last, and necessary, line of defense.

Panic room? Big fat metal door with reinforced locks to your bedroom? When home invasions do happen, you sit there and call the cops.

Or like someone said... A safety trigger in your vault to the police if they put a gun to your head.
