That's actually the Straight of Georgia (Or essentially the North Pacific Ocean), From English Bay Beach Vancouver, looking across towards Vancouver Island.
That is me on the paddle board, soaking it all in. Pic courtesy of the better half.

No pictures but my favorite was a Scio st sunrise .Scio st is a ghetto st we caught a lot,of fires on . Watching the sun come up through the burned out attic rafters , soaking wet on a 20 degree morning was a joy few will ever experience.

My favorite time of the day. One from a couple days ago. A few from when I lived in Ohio and one from 30k feet above Mexico. Sorry for the low quality pictures.

<<< Sunrise/Sunset >>>

Speaking of epic sun rises and sun sets, has anyone else ever experienced the green flash when the sun sets over water?

I first heard about it when I was a teen watching pirates of the Caribbean. Didn’t think it was a real thing until I saw it myself on a resort island in the Indian Ocean.

Lasts a split second but it completely blew our minds when the wife and I saw it for ourselves for the first time. All those years spent surfing, diving, fishing in the ocean and I never thought to look for it.

Lasts only a split second and literally as the sun disappears into the horizon over the water.

Never been able to see it again while in the CONUS.

I know it’s silly but I look forward to seeing it again some day. Maybe I’ll capture it this time and share it on the forum

I've heard of this but never seen it either. From what my grandfather told me, you are more likely to see it at sea on a calm clear day.

Great thread by the way. Sunset is my favorite time of day. I love how the light changes so fast but not so fast that you can see it in real time. I love the different colors. As someone from Tucson said, the sunsets there are spectacular almost every day.

Does anyone know about the Sunrise/Sunset complication on a watch that Krayon makes? Such a cool complication.

Seen it in the Gulf of Mexico a few times. I think it has something to do with the atmosphere. I used to take the boat out a few miles to watch the sunset almost every night for a few years and only saw it those few times.
