I can see where people think the new releases are derivative. Especially the Aqua Terra’s.

But the new 57’s are a step beyond derivative. Yes there is a green dial, but there are so many positive cues that hopefully show where omega might go in the future.

Smaller case both in diameter and thickness. Large taper (seemingly) high quality bracelet WITH micro adjust. Longer power reserve. Another new Metas Coaxial.

It is really tempting to just throw money at one of these things, being such an ergonomics whore that I am. This 57’ seems like it might be close to the perfect watch, fit wise. Just don’t know how redundant it will be against my 3861 Speedy.

the only thing that concerns me about the 57 is the lug to lug at just under 50mm.... why such long lugs....

The 3861 Speedy is 47mm lug to lug and wears true because the bracelet has no flair. I think the drape on the new 57 bracelet will be the same, and anything under 50-51mm is perfect for my 7.25 wrist.

Hell, the Daytona is a 47mm but flares to 50-51 with the bracelet and that’s pretty much the perfect watch imo.

I wouldn’t be afraid of a true 50-51mm fit with a nice tapering bracelet.

Rolex took the colored OP idea from aftermarket customizers, though

Rolex released a set of Stella dial Day Dates back in the 70s but it was not a popular watch. The present day OP is copy of their own playbook.

Man, I really like those Ultra Deep models, but just too thick for me. I'll definitely check out the green Seamaster. If Omega is smart enough to make enough watches to get in the hands of all those who want them, they will make a mint and steal a lot of customers from Rolex with those models! I wish they would make that white dial with blue bezel in a Seamaster.

Now the other two I have to say I think there may be some thievery going on LOL

You cannot get the Rolex anyway, the new Omega watches will be freely available. Pretty easy choice if you ask me…

The only product/update that Omega needed to release was a proper clasp with push-adjust on their current Speedmaster Professional.

Very valid points. Can’t wait to see it in the metal.

My opinion

Rolex makes better divers and GMTs, Omega makes better chronographs.

Agreed, why spend 25k on a steel sports when you can get all gold green dial chrono.

If I had a choice between grey market hulk and that green speedy it would be the speedy.

100% agree and it wouldn't even be a close decision. That new green Speedy is a stunning watch.

Resemblances are uncanny to me. But kudos to Omega on Titanium Ultra Deep! Although that I can never pull that off due to size and thickness (especially considered the added nato loop underneath), it is hell of a watch!

The Green Seamaster 300m will be added to my collection when available. I like the gold Speedmasters but for that much money I will have to do some research and try them all on.

I may have missed it, but does anyone know when these references are hitting the stores? I can't seem to find an accurate statement on this.

Thanks, I wasn't aware. In comparing them, the non-wave dial and more vibrant blue on the Ultra Deep is still more appealing.

O-Megasteel!!! It's almost impossible to describe how lame that sounds. Written down, it looks even dumber. I love Omega, but God that's awful. How that ever made it beyond a spitballing session before getting shitcanned, I'll never know.

I must say I am pretty impressed with Omega’s reinterpretation of popular Rolex models. In many ways they are better looking and functionally more robust than their Rolex counterparts. Looking forward to seeing some live at the boutique.
