Hello Fellow Rolex Owners and Fans

I decided to join to learn and appreciate everything Rolex and Tudor.

My first (and so far only) Rolex is the 6 digit Sub with no date.
I know some that say once you buy a Rolex you keep it for life, then maybe pass it on to your offspring.

Tastes change and lately I’ve been attracted to the black dial watches that can easily fly under the radar and still have charm.

I wish I would sport my Sub more often but it does not get as much wrist time as it used too couple of years back.

At work, I hear its not a great idea to wear a Rolex because people get jealous.
The sub is an icon and is easily recognized across the room - screaming ROLEX.

I have my sights set on the black dial Explorer.

What do you guys think - keep the sub because it is an icon?

Should we expect new renditions of the Explorer and Subs soon?

Looking forward to some advice / feedback.

Cheers

Welcome!

I would keep it - you only have your "first Rolex" once!
I would also wear it more often and not worry what others think. Most could care less.
Adding the black dial explorer gives you two no date watches if that's what you like.
Maybe check out the 5 digit Explorer II - 16570. Has the date and 24 hour hand to give you a little diversity.

I concur..and would add an EX1 to my collection because that too, I believe is an icon as well.
Wear your watch...that's why you bought it isn't it...

Great point!
The sub was my first and will remain my first proper luxury watch. I would regret selling it some time down the line.

I am curious as to what the 2020/2021 Explorers might be. Under 40mm would be fantastic - oversized watches are out.
