Like ‘em both, but the brushed bracelet would be a must for me.

Heaslite for me, brushed bracelet, unique look of plexi (an old school look on a very limited number of watches these days)
Sapphire can't be worn in space travel, which goes against the original roots of the moon watch Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk |

I've decided on the sapphire, however I am still struggling with the bracelet vs strap decision...what are the arguments?

This has propagated as fact but i do not believe it to be the case. Technically, hesalite was not a design criteria NASA had. It was simply that sapphire crystals did not exist yet so an alternative wasn’t even a consideration. Several Air Force pilots at that time wore plain glass eyewear, and the dials within the command modules had glass covering as well. So shatter resistance was not a required design criteria, but it makes for a compelling hesalite argument after the fact. Also keep in mind it is not the case/enclosure that is NASA certified, it is the whole watch but really it’s the movement - any case changes including from the 105.003 to the professional models did not get subjected to retesting until the 861 was introduced.

value wise, its a better "deal" to get the bracelet first and then supplement with a strap than to buy on strap and buy the bracelet later. Especially with the new adjustable clasp, the bracelet is of even greater value.

Based on my research, I had decided on sapphire, based on the applied logo, exhibition back, and strength of the crystal (bracelet is nicer looking too).
However, when I went to the AD and saw them both together, the Hesalite is a much better looking watch. By a lot. Thank goodness they didn't have the Hesalite in stock (with only an exhibition model in the case), or I would have bought it on the spot. Did the original moonwatch have an applied or printed logo? I think I will go Hesalite when the AD gets more in...no room on the price, but cash/check gets the CC discount. The lower price of the Hesalite gets my both the bracelet and strap for less than the sapphire....the Speedmaster is the greatest bargain in high end watches.
