for those who chose DD40, would the answer change if the option was 5711R?

For the current ask prices on the 5711, I'd much much much rather the 5726.

I was in this situation a few years ago. I'm still glad I went DDII no doubt.

It seems many are on the DD40 trail, as I once was. Having been there and owned one, I wouldn't trade any DD for this.

DD40 in PT.
The 5711 is really a overhyped piece at the moment, very nice tho. But the Day-Date also has a very good movement and the president bracelet is super nice.
The heft of the watch feels so much better for that kind of money. The 5711 is a very simple watch wich is just to hyped at the moment, few years ago most people didnt even looked at a Nautilus.

Cheers

Platinum DD for me, I think it's the best watch of the 3. It has a nice heft and works both dressy and sporty. And it also has a "presence" that I don't feel the other two has.

However, if you care about second hand value then 5711 is better.

5960 is alright, I think it's not bad looking and has complications, but right now probably not the Patek to get between the two Patek's.

I'm traveling for biz at the moment in Scottsdale, and stopped by the local patek AD. they had the DD40 platinum, which i had been admiring from afar, but never saw in person.

first time holding in my hand, first reaction was HOLY F*CK... the weight is unreal!
put it in my wrist... good lord, it's amazing.

it's now on my list!

Good choice.

I want to add of all the watches I currently own, 5131P, 5970P, GS 8 Days, Hermes, and etc., my wife's fav was my black dial DD2. I sold it thinking I will change it to DD40 (because I felt DD2 was a bit big) but so far haven't found a dial on the DD40 that I particularly liked. She said I shouldn't have sold DD2.
