FP Journe Chronometre Bleu write-up for Patek lovers...

I posted a lengthy write-up on the FP Chronometre Bleu in the Watches (Non-Rolex) Sub-Forum if any of you are interested.

I also have a Patek 5712/1a so I am on this sub-forum often and the CB comes up in here pretty regularly so I thought I'd let you know about my other post in case you don't normally look at that sub-forum.

Also, my brother has a 5167/a so I hope to do a CB vs 5167 write-up here in a few days once I have time to thoroughly compare them as they are relatively similarly priced in both retail and grey markets right now.

Although I think it's going to be hard to compare these two watches, as they are so different. Very different purpose/function.

With that said, I think the CB is fantastic, just not easy to put up against a Sports watch like the 5167.

FP makes some of the finest timepieces in true craftsmanship. The sports inspired Patek 5167 is a popular model nowadays for collectors. Look forward to some hi-res macro-pics comparisons of movement work.

It is a beautiful watch, no doubt about it.....

Like what others had mention.....

Hard to compare these two watches, as they are so different....

One it a sport and other is a dress.....

Nonetheless this would be an interesting comparison.....

If you going to compare CB vs 5167 as they are relatively similarly priced in both retail and grey markets right now......

In fairness, the 5167 will have to turn to a dress watch by adding a Patek Philippe original equipment manufacturer strap such as crocodile leather strap with Calatrava cross deployant clasp....







Price wise.....

Retail price 5167 with rubber strap @ $18,940 plus the optional Patek Philippe original equipment manufacturer crocodile leather strap 22mm with Calatrava white gold cross deployant clasp @ around under $4,000

Grand total of $22,940

VS

FP Chronometre Bleu $22,800

IMHO.....

What I LOVE about FP Chronometre Bleu is the beautiful dial, beautiful movement & strong resale value......

What I LOVE about 5167 it is a Patek Philippe, have a date complication, 120m water resistant, amazing lume, strong resale value, and most importantly is a sport watch & can be a dress watch by the options to be able to change to 3 different type of Patek Philippe original equipment manufacturer strap such as bracelet, rubber, and crocodile leather strap with pin buckle or Calatrava cross deployant clasp.... What more can you ask for....

Regardless, would love to see your write up CB against your brother 5167....

Well, the secondary market for the 5522 is insane plus it a limited production of only 600 pieces are made ......

So no comparison, in my opinion.....

A better comparison would be Patek Philippe Calatrava 6006G or 5296G

I owned a CB for 2 months and switched to the CS...i am in the.minority that i found i quickly bored of the dial. The cream hands and nunerals looked plastuc and for a small incresse the CS has a magnificeny dial, PR and great numerals. However CS prices are soct and the CB was a money maker for me

Yeah I would say a better comparison would be the CB to a Calatrava, maybe the 5227

The CB is a stunner in person.....must say it was completely off my radar till my buddy and I shared dinner and I caught him sporting it....talk about a dynamic dial.....I'd say it's definitely one of the best blue dials I've ever seen for sure.....and such a nice wearable size. Couldn't fight the itch to call the boutique to start the "process."
